The always awesome Ms. Nicki Tedesco lays down the grooves and she was a super-trooper, hanging out all day in my office to work with me on the editing. So it's totally a collaboration between the two of us.

And BTW... it was Nicki who kept asking/pressing for the ReBop-MM from PJ that finally got things moving on it. And her feedback was instrumental.
She had played a similar style bass for years, a seriously good one in my opinion. PJ and Stuart finally gave her what she wanted in a Spector... she owns the original prototype, which is a different color (it was before the blue black was decided on). If any of you get a ReBop-MM and love it, Nicki is someone you should thank (and PJ Rubal).
It is only fitting that the bass she helped make sure was created was given the official demo by her.

I loved that album. It's one of the few records I learned from top to bottom. In my opinion, the bass work that Muzz Skillings did on that record is as good as it gets. To bad he left the band, good for Dr. wimbish and the spector club though.

Part of me wants to check out the Rebop MM but instead of the Tonepump, I would install that Nordstrand 2 band Music Man pre. Yeah, I know it's blasphemy but I love the tone on those old pre Ernie Ball Music Man basses and think it would sound great in the Rebop MM.
These are just some of the insane ideas I kick around in my head. Of course, I have no money so it's not like I can even do it but it's fun to wish

I know what you mean John, I felt the same way. I had a couple of different ideas that I was going to try. However what I discovered, much to my delight, was that the MM sound is in there, or close enough really. It would pass the blind taste test. The great news is, there are more tones available. It's not a one or two trick pony. I realize that I'm in the honeymoon faze, but this bass is bringing some real Spector innovation. This is not your father's ReBop

Not like I need to be thinking about another bass already, but I was looking at the new Spector site's Coda page, and it occurred to me I have yet to see a Coda 5 with a pau ferro fingerboard AND crown inlays. The options on the DLX read as though MOP crowns would be standard on the pau ferro. Just seems like every Coda I've seen with crowns is the BEM fingerboard.
Has anyone seen a Coda with pau ferro and crowns? I'm thinking my eventual (as in next year LOL) Coda 5XL-Deluxe build could be bahama blue with matching headstock and the pau ferro with crowns. Oh yeah....
At the time when I ordered my Coda 5XL DLX I wanted a matching Headstock but at the time it was a no go. Glad they finally came thru with it as an option! Yay! Even though I love mine as is and it's the most amazing bass I have EVER had in my hands let alone owned! It's going no where!

Funny, but I used to have a very similar slap style but over the last few years, I have kinda inadvertently migrated away from it.
I picked up my Forte this AM and started slapping away with my old technique. I forgot how good (IMO anyways!) and funky I used to be. the wife wasn't impressed with the slap while she tried to sleep though.

in reality the 35 actually sounds like it's what I should be playing.. and yeah I was looking at just doing the usual with standard strings and going down to C that way, not sure about BEAD though, I might try that but it seems like cheating to me
I feel the inner bass critic would be saying "just play a five!" lol
In bold...that's the way I felt too and decided to just go with Fivers for my main bass.

Literally one of the best basses I've ever designed/ played/ heard, and at the time was the first Spector to have a single MM. A little later on some other dealers got the idea as it was a MAJOR hit with players. So, Spector made the smart decision to put it on the Euro line. The end!
P.S. This bass sold to a really cool guy on this forum, I can't remember his username off the top of my head.

That is MMbongo's bass if I am not mistaken. It really is a beautiful bass and gets us all salivating when pictures are posted of it.
By the way, I see the one you just got in stock with the MM pickup as well. Very sweet. Sam just posted the Ebay link earlier and I can see that one going quick.

Man, other than that 19mm spacing on the Green Machine, I'm wanting it...and that's a GREAT price on a US Spector! All the ones I find online are waaay higher!

Yesterday was a prime example of a great day;
Wrote and recorded a new track all day, then rehearsal with Winter Of Freedom in the evening, then back to mixing the new track. That's how I like to spend a good day!
This new track I am pretty happy with overall. It all came flowing during an early afternoon walk, I composed it all in my head and actually remembered it all when I went back home to record it!
One this one too, I played the Bass, Drums and guitars. (voice-over by Jiddu Krishnamurti...until I write lyrics and find a vocalist). This is a Trailight demo.

I know there is a lot more to the story than your version of things... I know because I was there.
You and I know one-another, so I can appreciate that you asked for the first MM USA Bolt-on. But Nicki was the one who really pushed from the Artist side to get PJ interested in doing a complete line, whereas what you asked for has become an option for an existing line.
Not to take anything away from your contribution, but Nicki did work with PJ in the entire process to push for and get the ReBop-MM, which is not an option, but a completely new re-thinking of the ReBop.

I like the Walnut Legacy it is really nice, Pau Ferro fretboard is the way I would go. I'm not a slapper and the TW can get pretty aggressive by itself.
Good looking rig, I have wanted to try out a Eden 410 for a while now. I think I saw one at the local music store used for 400.00.

As a sidenote, if a ReBop MM in a dual MM config existed, I'd be jumping all over it!
Also, I got a response from the import Spector dude for North America. $490 for a Maple fretboard Rebop5 neck. ^_^
We'll see how my funds are after my pickup swaps, but I may need to jump on this.
