In very late, care problems, at the mechanic today.

Thought it would be interesting sharing this photo of NS-2 #800 when it was just wing cut outs compared to the completed bass.

Great pic Sam!

Someday I hope to post my own version of NS-2 woods, before & after.

I think a single DI right off the bass is fine if you don't run through a bunch of effects (like me).

Hey guys......how are you running things live? Bass>DI? Mic'd amp? Both? We have full PA support for larger rooms. I'm going out of the DI on my TC Electronics RH750. Running the board eq flat, I feel like I'm lacking a little of that Spector grind once it goes through the PA. I should probably see how much compression he's running on it, but what are you all doing?

thanks!!

Never play a place big enough to require PA support so its just my Genz Benz and my NV215

After lurking for some time, I’m posting my Euro4 so I can now become a member. This is an ’03 w/a TP. The blueburst are so hard to photogragh well to capture the flame in the wings...

I regret it took me 30+ years before I finally picked up a Spector but now I’m hooked.

Oh, and I’ve also got a SSD NS-4 on the way I'll post when I get my grubby hands on it this week...

Congrats, and welcome to the club!

Did you buy that beautiful amber SSD NS-4 from ilustre? If so, thank you - the temptation to jump on that one was torture!

The depth of those gloss finishes in the blacks or that dark blue is astounding. Beautiful!

DI + Mic blend. :bassist:

Have you heard a fretless Spector 5 before? I had a fretless stingray 5 a while back and found that it just wasnt for me. I got used to the fretless pretty quickly but it was the first stingray I've ever owned so I'm not sure if I wasn't into the stingray (nice basses, just not a Spector) or if it was actually the fretless neck that I didn't like the tone of.

Can you still get the aggressive grindy tone out of a fretless Spector with the right pre in the bass?

I have fretless NS-2 Kramer era with HAZ. It's neither the rest of the fretless around nor the fretted-like NS-2...something in between. It's a perfect player and obviously more aggressive than the other fretlesses I had before, however you can also dial in some "mwaaahh" the fretless players are after, but not that dirt and grind as my fretted NS-2 can be. I eventually realized that I would not use it as often as my fretted and put it up for sale now.

Drool
Your Spalted NS2 influenced my decision to go with the Spalted EX top on my Euro. I watched your youtube vids over and over. I've always liked Spalted maple but it looks even better on a Spector and even better on your NS2 :bassist:

NICE!!!!!!!!! Thanks man! So YOU are the one watching my videos! :p :D
