I have a very nice USA Spector a very nice Euro Spector and a colorful "piece of crap" holoflash Korean Rex5 pro. Owning all three and playing them side by side all I can say is tonewise and feel (to me) the Woodstock USA is hands down the best of the bunch followed by the Rex and then the Euro. Finish wise, I get more comments (actually positive ones) on the holoflash than I do on any other bass I own. I will admit the flash finish is a love it or hate it thing for some people and that's ok, just buy the trans black one if thats more to your liking. Finish aside, the Korean Rex5 pro is built very well with neck thru construction and a nice cutaway for higher fret access. For those that havent tried one yet, give the Rex pro neck thru a spin and you'll probably be very pleasantly surprised.

My girlfriend LOVES the holoflash finish, but I just couldn't see myself liking it enough to buy a bass in that finish. I will admit though, the trans black looks killer, and I've been contemplating picking up a Rex 5 for a while, just not 100% set on the body style, but for the right price I could probably pick one up..

I take it the korean models arent available for custom colour options, right? It's too bad they don't offer the Rex models in a nice red, blue, or green, I'm sure they'd look great in a variety of options. Anyone maybe looking to move a Rex 5 in the trans black finish?

Are they going to sell it in the TB classified, what tone system did you have?

The CRFM/Euro models are the tone in my head... I don't foresee myself going after a NS-2 anytime soon

I also owned a Rex4 Pro (non holoflash) and it is a great bass. I actually miss it. Nothing wrong with the holoflash finish either, its not my cup-o-tea but its cool.

you just can't go wrong with any spector... they are all built well and sound great.

IMHO, I'd hold out for the NS-2 Kramer. It's already on your mind to buy one someday...as Dick said a day or two back, if he'd just waited to buy a NS-2 he would've saved himself a whole lot of money. Same here!
Or for me it'd be a NS-5. It seems that a whole lot of us are striving for getting as close as we can to "That" sound, the NS-2 USA 9V circuit sound. And if are honest to ourselves and tally up all the $$$ spent buying that Euro, Korean, that Pre or this pickup, we probably spent more $$$ overall than what a nice used Brooklyn or Kramer would of cost. GUILTY here! :rolleyes::D

Bummer :bawl: Is that a 4 or 5 stringer? I own its sibling (Forte 4, #36). It might be the greatest thing since the invention of (dare I say it?) beer. Well, it is to me, any way. :D

Awesome. I'd love to get back in the studio. At this point though I wish my guys would just show up for rehearsal, or answer emails for that matter.

Yeah, always on the TB app, and really do prefer the ease of navigating the site over the actual web version but considering I'm always on wifi anyway I do suppose I could start using the safari link until the app gets updated.

I really haven't had much for crashes or issues with this version of the app, just really annoying that you can't search the classifieds like I can on the web version.

He said he was going to post it on the tb classifieds, but I suggested that he post it here for a day or so first. I believe it still has the original OBP2 circuit in it.

It's a 4 banger. It is quite sad that the timing didn't work out for my baby to return home, but I still have faith that one day we can reunite!

Well.......

Ya'll win. Congratz. My beloved Fender American Jazz Deluxe is now officially my "specific uses" bass. My newly acquired Spector has become my primary bass.

Don't tell any Fender folks I said this......and you'll swear this is an exageration, but it's not. I've been searching for months to find the tone I was looking for. I have a Boss GT-10B pedal board, and I've been running my Fender AMDLX through it trying setting after setting to try to get the tone I wanted. No matter I did, I just couldn't get the bite out of it. The Fender is one SMOOTH bass, I will give you that, but I couldn't get it to growl.

Well... I plugged the Spector in straight to my Carvin amp. Done. Not freaking kinding... Done. That's the tone. Right there. No amp modeller needed. Compression and a tuner and I'm done. I couldn't believe it.

So when I asked why "The Freak" Spector had been sold around TB so many times, I was told because people have GAS for bigger better Spectors... Well, don't expect to see this guy for sale ever again. Sorry everyone else!

I think they offered a USA 9 volt upgrade (but your thinking it still has the Aguilar OBP-2) and also something with the finish, is this the stock finish?

Funny, that's how I arrived at Spector as well, via a Fender P Deluxe. Really nice basses but growly? Not so much. With Spector I'm smitten. :D
