I'm with LimaGuy as far as the Woodstock being my favorite of the NS-2s. I recommend saving up for a nice used model.
Sam (LimaGuy) has a vast knowledge of Spectors, has helped countless Spector lovers find just the right bass for their needs & budget, and he doesn't ever give bad advice. A PM to him is the best thing I think you could do.

Definitely, and sometimes he gets a guy to ship a bass for you when the guy says "No Shipping!!"...

Hi everyone,
Anyone in the NW (Oregon/Washington area) interested in performing with Same Ol' Situation (a Motely Crue Tribute Band) lemme know. Tom has moved to Los Angeles leaving them without a bassist. They are popular and busy in the Portland area.
I see a lot of new basses and new faces, That's a good thing.

Sorry I haven't been as active as I used to be. I hope everyone is doing Okay.
I am sorry to hear about Chris. That was a sad sad day for us all.

I just wanted to say that my Kramer NS2a has the mojo and I'm glad I pulled this bass out from under the bed and started using it again. I'm also getting a lot of comments from people at our shows about the sound of this bass, the last time I used this I found myself playing it more with a pick because of the piano sounding attack on the strings but this time I have watched a lot of youtube videos from players and used some of there suggestions to set a great finger picking sound and it has made me want to explore the possibility of adding another Spector to my collection (NS2, Alex Webster, Euro, etc.)....guess I need to make a run to Tulsa Oklahoma to do some Spector test driving!

ok, opinion time. here is my issue im having.
i have fallen in love with the white maple body LE euro.
that being said, i realize for that money i could go a few different ways.
i could buy two used euro lx
or even an older ns2 if i can hold out long enough to find one in the same price range.
i know it comes down to my decision in the end but i do value everyone heres opinion very much also. keep in mind im new to spector and right now my only one is a performer.
since ive been sick and on disability money is tight. this is the one time a year i can do something like this anymore. what do you all feel on this matter?

IMHO, I'd hold out for the NS-2 Kramer. It's already on your mind to buy one someday...as Dick said a day or two back, if he'd just waited to buy a NS-2 he would've saved himself a whole lot of money. Same here!
Or for me it'd be a NS-5. It seems that a whole lot of us are striving for getting as close as we can to "That" sound, the NS-2 USA 9V circuit sound. And if are honest to ourselves and tally up all the $$$ spent buying that Euro, Korean, that Pre or this pickup, we probably spent more $$$ overall than what a nice used Brooklyn or Kramer would of cost. GUILTY here!

Personally, I kind of like the holoflash.
Secondly, the AAA maple basses don't have holoflash...and the Korean Spectors are NOT crap. Don't knock 'em until you try 'em. They can hold their own quit well.

+100%! I've owned MIK's Legend 4, NS-2A, NS20005 and all have been great basses.

yes, i can see the point of that. i just hope i can hold on tight until i can find an older ns2. i have not had a nbd in years and with nothing but time on my hands its very hard to be patient
i have never had nice equipment. (up until now i was just happy to be playing, didnt matter what it was or what it played through :scowl:) so im going to change that.

an older ns2 would be SWEET!!! if i can find one i like and can afford before SAS infects my brain too much.

its just so easy for me to drive 30 min. out of the way when i go to chicago for my treatment and walk out with a new bass... or i can wait... search... search... wait... find one then wait for delivery...
yet i know all the days waiting would be worth it in the end, when i finally got that mighty NS2...

i hope once i finally have one, the wait will be at least a little bit easier on the 2nd...
but probably not...

i know. THIS IS AN AWESOME PROBLEM TO HAVE!!!

Unless you live in West Coast Canada where there are ZERO dealers and people make up their own absurd pricings for the few Spectors that exist here. -_- Guys are asking $900 for dot inlay ReBops and $800 for NS-2000/5s.

I believe if you have the money that an older ns2 might be found rather quickly. Sam (Limaguy) is awesome at turning up things like this, that's why he's the Spector pimp or Spector godfather. Also if you do some searches you might be surprised at what you find. Sam is the best resource, if he has time......

That's very VERY true... I ended up with having two Kramers and one Brooklyn and zero Euros...Nothing wrong with Euros, I had two of them, excellent instruments but now I only have NS-2s... And my main bass is one of them - old Kramer NS-2.

What's up dudes! Just got back from spending the weekend in the studio cutting 2 tracks for my bands EP! Super pumped, it was a ton of fun. I ended up recording the Ultra Amber NS 2 on the first day and Big Earl on day 2. The producer and engineer were very impressed with the tone straight into the board.

Hopefully these tracks get mastered some and will be available for download!

Yes. ive already talked to the Spector godfather. he has already been a big help. i think im going to try to hold out for the ns2 and see what pops up.
i dont even have the money in hand yet (wednesday i hope) so i dont want to have anyone dig too deep for me yet. once i have the cash then ill hope he has an offer i can not refuse!

Nice! Seems like everywhere I bring my Spector I'm getting compliments on my tone. The soundguy from Friday nights gig loved my DI tone out of my clean Sans RBI and told me on more then one occasion, as well as another bassist. Nice big stage, too, it's been a while since I've been to that venue and they changed a lot around. Changed the bar and lobby as well as removing tons of seats in the crowd area giving LOTS of floor space.

Looking forward to more shows here in the near future, wish I could've gotten some pics.

I have a very nice USA Spector a very nice Euro Spector and a colorful "piece of crap" holoflash Korean Rex5 pro. Owning all three and playing them side by side all I can say is tonewise and feel (to me) the Woodstock USA is hands down the best of the bunch followed by the Rex and then the Euro. Finish wise, I get more comments (actually positive ones) on the holoflash than I do on any other bass I own. I will admit the flash finish is a love it or hate it thing for some people and that's ok, just buy the trans black one if thats more to your liking. Finish aside, the Korean Rex5 pro is built very well with neck thru construction and a nice cutaway for higher fret access. For those that havent tried one yet, give the Rex pro neck thru a spin and you'll probably be very pleasantly surprised.

Just an fyi...just heard that my old Forte (#37) is about to go up for sale. Many of you know that I've regretted selling it the first time, and I am physically sick to my stomach because I cannot afford it right now.

It is by far the best bass that I have owned to date and has a fantastic neck profile! I'm hoping that someone here can snag it so it'll stay in the family!
