wow! the coda pro basses are looking good! especially with the spector bridge!! and you know your getting far beyond fenfer quality with the korea factory! Love the Quintin Berry sig model as well. Great and unique player, glad to see him with a sig model and bitchin color! Yet again Spector knocks it out of the park!

I own 1 Fender (a 1996 MIM P that I've had since I was 14) and have owned a 2012 MIM Active Deluxe Jazz and a 2011 MIA P5. I own 2 Spectors, a 2006 ReBop 5DLX and a 1996 NS-2000/5.
Both of my Spectors are better players, more versatile and of better build quality than any of my Fenders. In fact, I traded my P5 for my NS-2000/5 & $300 cash. I felt that much better about the import Spector than I did the MIA Fender.
In fact, the only bass I'd trade my NS-2000/5 for is a 4 string ReBop, just because I want conventional drop-tune capability without losing a Spector.
Now, this doesn't speak to the quality of the Coda Pro, but it if's anything like my NS-2000/5 it's going to be a KILLER bass of arguably better quality than the Fenders in the same price range.
How many Fenders are available for the price of a Coda Pro with a figured top, active electronics, fast necks, classic styling, and the build quality we've come to expect from Spector?

over all fit ,finish and std build ( making sure the bridge is straight and square, etc.)

lets be honest, fenfer build quality sucks on most instruments , even the usa ones (but their usually better). The MIJ's are some of the most consistant and best IMO. Go play 5 fenfers and see what you get, go play 5 spectors and you tell me who does the better work.

The attention to detail and quality of work on the korean spectors is some of the best on a mass produced bass imo. starting form the 80's. Stuart started them up doing quality work and showed them what was expected and exceptable. Import companies can and do do some great work, as long as they know what is expected an exceptable.

If you build a 1000 of anything you cannot help but get good at it. If you build 1000 and the quality is not up to par then either there is a major issue in the build process or you don't care that your building junk. if you build 20,000 and still have the same issues as day 1 , then you obviously have made the decision to build and sell junk.

well for those of you who give a hoot, i got the tonepump working in full force and it sounds so good. im glad i got that pre. cant wait til the 3 year old wakes up from his nap so i can get it with some grand funk later on. ;) oh yeah!

Took the trim pot tone pump out of my Euro and put in an EMG BTS and EXB expander ala Smadder setup, LOVE IT! Really hits the mark for me, great finger tone and I get an enjoyable slap tone out of it as well. I used to hate EMG, now im becoming a fan of their stuff, especially using their pres with their pickups.

ok thanks for sharing your experiences. I play and love both brands, and have owned a fair number of both brands. I've been lucky with the fenders I've owned I suppose, even the Squiers and Mexican instruments I've owned. my decisions to sell have always been gas induced and not a reflection of quality. fenders are typically simpler instruments and seem to be more sensitive to setup issues, but I've yet to find a recent MIM or MIA bass that I couldn't get to play great with a little setup work.

agree that the quality ok Spector Korean basses is excellent. I just always feel compelled to ask questions when people make the blanket statements about manufacturers.

Ah man! I think I'm in CA those days come out the week before or the week after! I got shows with Arsonist gets all the girls on the 8th and The Contortionist two weeks after
