OK, I’ve got a bad case of GAS and am looking to join the Spector Club and I find myself checking on this SSD in the classifieds way too much: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/spector-ssd-era-5-string-woodstock-made-964923/ I have pretty small hands so the 34”scale and shaved down neck are appealing. Anyone have any thoughts on this bass?

Awesome bass, and great person to deal with. I would be certian that you would be happy with the neck profile on that.

I have purchased from him before.

This bass would be perfect if you have smaller hands and are looking for a 34" scale 5 string.

Yep. Funny story, I got to work with the bass. I'm going to put bubble wrap & some air bags in the case to stop it from bumping around during shipping. I realized I forgot the strap lock ends at home & had to rush back to the house to get them.
It's a good thing I did, because I had also forgotten the shipping label on the table.

If I played 5er's I would have already bought this. You really can't go wrong with anything on this one, great guy, sublime instrument....

Great basses! The pickups will get you by, but I'd swap them for a set of EMG HZ or DC down the road.
The feel, fit & finish are awesome for the money.

The tone & workmanship on these Woodstocks are second to none. I think anyone interested in a fiver would love this bass.

That is an excellent price for that particular Spector Bass. Original owner, an international pro bassist and one of our fellow brothers. You won't go wrong buying that bass. The only reason it's still FS is because I don't have the money. Lol

Sent you a brief PM.........save for a used Rebop....that's my thoughts......

EDIT-I will post more........if you go through these threads, you will see that we all get bitten and go through many basses to reach the final goal of a USA or Euro SPector. I would save as much as you can and avoid all the upgrading etc, etc. And start with a rebop or used Euro.......good luck, trust me......its worth doing this way! I've personally gone through over 10 Spectors in a short period of time to find my favorite......and I'm not even sure I'm there.

Superdick2112 said something like, "if I bought a NS-2 25 years ago I would have saved myself thousands of dollars over the years and would not have had so much GAS......."
