Is your neck coated with a hard surface also?

What dimension to the sound are you dialing in with the reverb, would it be a spring type vibration or a poing sound? Hard to discribe....lol....maybe you might have better luck!

It is glued in place so i can only see four sides of six. It does not read Spector or Tonepump on the casing, in fact it is jet black without any words on it. Is something wrong?

It's an older model.

From 2004-2008 the TonePump was made without the trim pot... which was the reason the trim pot was added. The circuit runs hotter than most (the reasons were explained in the video I did).

What I usually tell people who have the non-trim pot version is that you can easily replace it with a newer version.

They run a little bit less than an Aguilar OBP-2 would cost (retail) and they have the growl that is more typical of Spectors.

Or look for one here or on Ebay. They pop-up from time-to-time.

Unless AJ has had it coated... no.
Stuart doesn't do anything different to finish fretless fingerboards than those that are fretted.
If you are using round-wounds, especially stainless steel rounds, you'll dig grooves into the FB after a while.
This is why I wanted the epoxy coat. It's like armor to protect the fingerboard.

Sounds like a very smart idea to coat it like you did and I would think that it would make it simulate a steel fret in some kind of way giving a novice like me that sound he is looking for rather than the thump...

JPS, i got a question about the rebops. i asked a few threads ago but never got a definite answer and you weren't around. i remember when the rebops showed up they had oiled necks from what PJ told me (this was back in the very early '00s). are the back of the necks still oiled or are they a matte urethane finish now?

Thanks a lot JPS, i will keep my eyes open. Would the 18V US Circuit also work i.e. give that sound? Or would you suggest the newer tonepump?

Thanks Patrick, that means a lot coming from the man with the Black Pearl & the Blue Dream. I almost unloaded it, but not happening. I have not coated the fretboard, & I use Nickle rounds on it. There are some grooves worn in, but not bad. The thing about Pau Ferro is that it's pretty hard. For dialing in reverb, I go with a very light small hall setting on my Guyatone Micro Reverb. That pedal is the shizz! Probably one of best sounding reverbs I've heard, unfortunately it's discontinued.

This gives the neck extra rigidity.

Rock maple is also stronger than standard maple. The area it grows in is cold and so the trees grow slowly, but the wood fibers are more dense and tighter.

Rock Maple only grows in one area of upstate NY where the huge continental glacier retreated some 10,000 years ago leaving approximately 70ft of topsoil with no rocks or mineral deposits in it, so the wood grows clean with few knots or discoloration. The roots of the trees can go straight and deep without running into things to limit or bind them.

The band's been pretty productive today. The guy who was going to record for us cancelled, so we did it ourselves. It took some experimenting, but we finally got a passable guitar sound and everything. I'll check with the guys to see if I can post the track later. The Euro sounded awesome- ran it through the MXR DI clean with a mid boost, then a boss overdrive through the parallel output. Blended the two together and man. The bass sounds mean!

This might be off-topic, but I'm looking at getting a TonePump plus an EMG 40DC (neck) and an EMG 40TW (bridge) to try to turn a cheap bass into a passable backup for my Euro.

Is there anybody here that could advise about how to wire the TonePump to these pickups?

Also looking to find out if the TonePump can be wired for Volume/Blend/Bass/Treble instead of Vol/Vol/Bass/Treble.
