Got back some video from last week's reunion show of my old band. 3 camera shoot is nice. Unfortunately, the laptop crashed recording audio, so this is just camera audio.

We had not played together until last year's reunion show in 10 years (singer lives in Hawaii). The club owner wanted us to do another show and flew him in this year, so it was one rehearsal the night before and go. Not too bad considering, LOL.

Yep, that's usually all it takes. Best direct sounding basses ever.

If it was, none of us that dropped $1000+ on a Carbine would have done so. We'd all have spent 50% less on a GK!!!

Having my Daughter come live with me this last month has left me almost no time to keep up on the boards..I have a lot of catching up to do.
I think I missed the last whole part 60 thread.

I did get a nice new truss rod cover from my friend Mike at West Virginia Wood Arts..Love it

Maybe Husky can weigh in but I thought he or someone had mentioned a while ago that they can be dial in to a similar tone. Maybe I'm wrong I have the m9 and love it with my Spectors . Just curious

Yes I thought the GK MB800 sounded very similar to the Mesa M9. I had them both side by side for almost a year (that's 7 years for the normal amp guy

They are both tight and bright with BIG extended lows. Voiced extremely similar, especially in the upper mid - treble region. The GK lacks a little in the overall oomph department that the Mesa deals out with authority because of that big iron transformer. But don't get me wrong, the GK can lay the whoop ass in spades. Just incredible amounts of power for something smaller than a cigar box and weighing under 5 pounds.

Very good! Some nice proggy stuff in there, my band sort of follows that same path. like a build up to something incredibly loud and heavy but then-- SURPRISE! melodic soothing section haha

Yeah you can look at that both ways.....some sell, some buy.

The Tone Hammer will be on the other side of the spectrum in comparison to the GK/Mesa stuff. The TH line will give you that warm and thick, extremely present and complex mids. It'll feel down on power (because it is) compared to your M9 but for smaller venues it will rock. Also, if you pair it with your Mesa 412 it is gonna slay!

One thing I love about Spectors is that even if it's a "normal" production line cheaper bass, it still looks like a beast and sounds like a... beast. Just thought I'd share
