Nice rack.
Incidentally, I love when a new thread opens so I can have a good dose of Spector porn. I really want to have a room like Todd's. Seriously. My kidneys are probably worth something, right?

Haha...from my cold dead hands they'll have to pry the emerald....![]()
How is the Shorty, guys? Does it still deliver "the" Spector sound?
Can someone give me their opinion on the USA bolt-ons? I'd like to check out a spector but need the wider spacing. Do the NS-52H's still have that signature sound? The preamp, pickups and bridge are different -- which I would imagine changes the tone significantly.
The price seems good though for a US made boutique 5. Thanks in advance!
Hi Joel! I personally love my Spector bolt on. It has dual MM pups with the Aguilar OBP-3 pre. It sounds massiveTo address your question I wouldn't say it's "the" sound but definitely in the family. I do have a NS-5 B.O. on order that will have P/J pups and the US9V pre. Then I can see how close it gets........
Bottom line- I think the Spector B.O. is one of the best buys in USA made basses.

Thanks. I love how the grain at the neck joint just explodes and fades into the burl pattern. My daughter hates this bass, she gets creeped out by all the "faces" hiding in the burl (if you look close you'll see a bunch of them).![]()
iirc it's just a short scale version of the Ns2, so I'd think that it should still have that Spector grind to it. Im sure someone with more info can chime in shortly
Thanks man. Your bass looks sweet!
So your new one will have PJ picks? I didn't realize that was an option on the 5's... That's very cool. That might be the way I go.

Thanks! Here is one that's already out there. Mine will have the P in the reversed (Spector standard) position.
WOW! Great clip! That DOES sound great. I really like that song, too.
When I hear "Mila Kunis", I think "Meg Griffin"; difficult to make the hot connection along that thought path!
