SPECTOR® Club - Part 62

OK so upon a friend's recommendation I listened to the new album by a band called Scale the Summit, and wow is it great technical/prog instrumental work.

The bass sits beautifully in their mix and has real growl. Sounds like Spector to me. Anyone in the club fans of these guys, know if it is actually Spector bass in this band? Because if not it should be. :D

Listened to an older album but the bass didn't sound as growly or punchy, maybe it was a recent addition?

edit: for your ears it is available streaming here http://www.metalinjection.net/av/stream-the-new-scale-the-summit-album-right-now

I swear this is my last Scale the Summit post for now, as I don't wanna be spamming up the place since I just got into these guys, :o but I found some live vids and it looks like he's upgraded the Legend 6 from the SSD pickups to EMG.
(could be wrong thats what it looks like to me)

I know guys in the have said the Legend still gets great Spector tone even being a low-budget model, but I didn't quite believe it until hearing this guy, it has growl for days. Seems if you want an affordable 6, this is the way to go.

i dont think your spaming, besides its about Spector and how it sounds freaking awesome with the group, thanks for posting these.

I am curious about your 17mm spacing comment on the Coda. Since that is pretty much the standard spacing for a 5 string (the wider option on the USA bolt-ons is 19mm,) what is the string spacing on the NS20005?

The 17mm for the Coda 5XL is from the Spector site...as for the NS-2000/5, there's not a string spacing listed in the discontinued models site. The string spacing is really noticeable between the two though. I didn't ask for 19mm string spacing when I ordered the build...I'll get out the calipers and measure the spacing on the Coda 5XL when I get back from vacation. Are any of your NS-5's have the 19mm string spacing?

The red one? Sweet.
That's actually an NS-6.
The original NS-6 wasn't a bass. It was an electric guitar.

What is really cool about the NS-6 is that is has the EXACT same body as any of your neck-thru Spector Bass.

The ARC6 is actually either a bolt-on or set neck. The NS-6 is a neck-thru design.

You're gonna love that guitar.
And if not. Send me a PM. I may still be interested in it. :D

Yes, the red one. Arrives tomorrow, I looked at the sellers website and he has a bunch of vintage guitars and they are all mint. This one was built in 87, I'm looking forward to pluging it in for sure and will let you know if I part with it. The older EMG's should sound awesome. I'll put some pic's up when it arrives.

Ok guys! In December I'm going into the studio to record our new album. I'm going to Greece in SepticFlesh's new studio. The question is, how do I get my beloved Euro there? Last time I took a bass on a plane (Sequel, anyone?) I just ordered another seat and had it next to me. This time I think that's out of the question as the fare is going to be very expensive. What are my options? Flight cases and checked in? Suck down the cost and buy another seat as before, or will they let me take it on as carry on?

Heeeelp! :D

A good quality flight case and lots of "Fragile, Handle with Care" stickers.;) A good strong flight case is something you are going to need anyway, when you come to tour in USA.

Hey guys, I finally managed to fit the two batteries in my rebop's cavity, doesn't really close well but it's worth it!

Here's a song I wrote this last days, no mix, no preamps, nothing only pure bass tone :)

Here it is, any comments greatly appreciated!

(when I try to put it with the soundcloud player it says track currently unavailable, any tips on that :) ?

A good starting point for sure! Should I check it in or ask about carry on?

And yes, it'll definitely be needed for the US tour :D hehe.
