It's here!

Couple of crappy cell pics for now - gotta jump on a Skype interview for ProgPower before I can play with it.

My first impression is, it's lighter in color than I thought it would look in person, especially based on the pre-gloss pics I saw plus the other photographed UV basses. It definitely seems to look different in different light. Perhaps Todd or Torn or Patrick can tell me their experiences with how they look in person via photography. It looks a darker in these pics than it does in person to me.

Then again, my black cherry has a different look than in the pics too so I think that's just how they photograph.

Thing feels great - I like the feel of the BEM quite a bit between this and the Coda 5XL. Now I gotta plug it in in a couple hours and here the 9v with this 40P5 and 40J. :bassist:

Awesome Bunk! What grade of quilted maple did you get on that one. Looks killer

That's the HOTNESS! Congrats on yet another beauty Bunk!! ...remember the other day when I said you were not helping my SAS...THIS is what I'm talking about! :D

did you go with the Alex Webster neck profile on this one and/or your 6'er?

Thanks man! Sorry for the SAS attack. :ninja:

This is a standard neck profile, but it honestly doesn't feel too much thicker than the Webster. I have to compared it to the other 5XL I have but I think this one is thinner.

Wowzers!!!!! That is beautiful!

I think a lot of the colors have so many different looks depending on lighting. There are also many shades of maple, so they take the stain differently. I have seen 2 basses with the same finish done on the same day that did not look identical when done because of this.

Man, enjoy your new baby!!!

Bunk, that thing looks KILLER. Play the **** out of it for all of us! :bassist::hyper:

Bunk... This is gorgeous!

Another sick bass Bunk.... Congrats. Take some outside pics!!!!

Dang, that's bad ass! Congrats Bunk.

Thanks everyone - feeling pretty good about this one! Todd that makes sense on the wood. I have a feeling this was from a lighter piece of maple. Coop to answer your question, this was the "standard" 4A quilt - I did not upgrade to premium. Between this, the Coda and the 6XL I think I got as good as it gets before upgrading to 5A.

Oh and I meant to show this one when I first saw it but it got away from me - this is the "last" (hahaha) one I should have coming in for a while, pre-gloss:

This is modeled after John's "Great Gazoo" bass in color but I think this one might wind up a little lighter too based on this pic, which is cool. It's got its own thing going on. This will have the unlined ebony fretless fretboard and (gasp!) black hardware. Basically wanted Colin Edwin's fretless as a 5-string in green.

I actually ended up ordering 3 basses for stock today, instead of 2.

#1 - is a killer piece of buckeye burl. Love the dark look and all the figure.

This will be high gloss w/ a dark pau ferro fingerboard, thin neck (front to back), Schaller strap buttons, Spector 9volt preamp, EMG P&J pickups.

#2 - Quilted maple top/Redwood back. This is something new Stuart just started doing and is suppose to help with the weight and still have that Spector tone.

This bass will be tobacco sunburst w/high gloss finish. Fingerboard will be dark pau ferro, thin neck (front to back), Schaller strap buttons, Spector 9volt preamp, EMG P&J pickups.

#3 - Coda 4 Deluxe

Ultraviolet High Gloss, dark pau ferro fingerboard, abalone crown inlays, P&J EMG pickups, chrome hardware.

Oh man, #2 has it all!

Once you get this beauty outside you will see some blues pop out in the color, inside it darkens up and the purple grabs you....A lot of people have noticed the variations in color of the Ultraviolet and I get nothing but complements about the look and sound of my bass.
