Kramer Era USA 9v circuits are hard to come by. And they really are in many people's opinion, the best version of the USA circuit.

I am going to try the Spector thingy again. I got a cool old NS2A? cheaper version last summer but it had been bungled up in the preamp and I never could get it fixed. BUt I am getting a Korean made NS 20004 tomorrow. I see folks really going over the deep end and going Spector crazy....I truly feel that I could easily go that route too....hoping tomorrow is a better experience than my last time around.

yes but does that mean the price goes up by an extra $1000?

I was in but im sorry 1600 is insane. Maybe some guys like the tone but sorry a preamp is not worth 1000k . I thought it would make a cool bokkend with the white euro but ahhhh no way. I love my korean and czexh basses.

Hope your experience is much better this time. That is the issue I see with some of the NS2A's often, and even with the Korean HAZ it can be hit or miss. Where in VA are you? We have several members including myself in VA that you might be able to get togther with and try the different models.

I am a fan of the older circuits, but I would put a new 9v HAZ (when avaliable) or even a OBP circuit before spending that amount of dough. Sorry no TP love from me, I have a pile that is going out with Donny's strap.

Hey also I should mention finally got to gig my lightbrite rebop the other nite with the emg bt or korean 9 volt. Wow sounded awesome got way more bottom end out of it and I was able to dial in a lot of diff tones depending on songs we were doing. If someone has a rebop and they wanna try something diff id give it a shot. Of course it also helped tbat my v amp pro wasnt plugged into the lightboard cicuit this time around lol. Know its not for every one but worked great for the lightbrite.

I love my t2o even though im selling one. Dont need two but I took then preamp out of one and put it in my rebop

Sam seems to think that the circuit is actually a modified NS-2A circuit... Which again... who knows? It does make sense that if you were dropping in a USA circuit you'd drop in active pups.

But Kramer did some crazy stuff in the end days of their being. And USA circuits in a Korean model isn't unheard of.

I do agree, regardless of whatever is in this puppy, $1600 is way too much.

Unless the people doing the bidding war are confused regarding if it's an NS-2... If they thought they were getting a White Kramer NS-2, $1600 is a steal.

Or it could be a case of two people who really, really, really want a white Spector. LOL.

I've got a VERY early NS2A (no serial #) that had a US Haz preamp in it initially when I bought it ,however it died on tour back in the early 90's so I can speak from experience that they have been built with the USA pre. I had 2 other (newer) NS2A basses out with me at the same time and they had the Korean copy, it was not the same pre.

That said, $1600 is just silly for this bass. You could get an NS2O with the USA HAZ for around $2K and then you'd have a USA Spector AND a HAZ preamp.
