Just picked one up because of all the good word here.That Phil Jones stuff looks pretty high end. Must be good. Interesting use of small speakers.

Looking at the photo of your circuit on your prototype NS-2A. The Circuit in your bass has pots more like a Brooklyn Era 9V USA Circuit.
As of this morning, it is up to $2,015.00
Looks like the seller did add the photos of the circuit after the initial post, so someone thinks it's a USA made "vintage" Spector.
Looking at the circuit again, I am 99.9% sure its a modified Korean board.
The seller seems to be a pawnshop.
My guess, they got a "hot interested" buyer and they have a buddy jacking the price up to get as much as possible out of the interested buyer.
The same seller also has a NS-2JAR for sale
Which has some severe cracking in the finish especially on the back. He claims "this is common for this model."

We have seen some Euros with this just near the control cover but its not common at all for around the whole body.
My prediction.
Expect the NS-2A re-listed again in about 5-7 days after the auction ends.
Yeah when I first bid the pictures werent there. And if its a pawn shop I bet they paid like 100 dollars for it. I think maybe a lil report to ebay may be in order.

NOW that is a good question there are so many good colors Spector does,. how about a FORTE CODA. flat trans black with maple board matching head stock. with flats on it.
.I at the moment use Acoustic 600 watt head and cabs but have just bout an Eden Metro and am looking at a 410 xlt cab to pair it with. I use a Behringer Bass Vamp Pro rackmount on top of it . I know its not for everyone but I think the SVT setting I found Dug Pinnick using in studio sounds awesome.

I think that's one reason they are not more popular than they are - the 5" speakers are deadly, but only in large batches. Most folks who play PJB amps play the smaller cabs & combos, and haven't heard the thunder that 24 of those little puppies working together are capable of producing. It takes four of the 5" speakers to equal the cone area of a single 10" speaker, so my 24 speaker rig is roughly equivalent to a 6 x 10" cab, but with much quicker transient attack & response.

On the USA circuits I see two small phillips head adjustment pots on the right hand side. What are those for?
EDIT *** Now I see several of those (more coffee please!). I guess they're not an adjustment.

Is there such a thing as Spector crazy or going over the deep end? I think that Spector makes great basses at various price points and there is a lot of cool used Spectors available as well...so...each of us can pick and choose the Spector that best fits our needs. I love my NS2A as well as my NS2 models, I also enjoy my Fenders...and...I even picked up a Squier fretless that sounds fantastic on the few fretless songs we cover (and to learn that technique). My new dream bass would be a Spector Coda P-bass and I hope they introduce that model soon!
I hope you find a way to get your NS2A working and your NS 2004 works out great for you...
May keep it way it is. Kinda givin it a way old school look. Wont do a wrap on it. Def gonna swap out the pickups and see what it has for a preamp. I know pj said it was a 2004.

Have you ever had a sound guy mic that cab? Curious to know if they had a blank stare for a minute.

I'm thinking its a modified Korean board as well. Here are a few boards I've personally owned.

Korean HAZ Copy (that I modified the volume pots for active pickups)
Here's another shot of it during the modding process. Mine even has the same piece of masking tape along the top edge!
Oh and here's the Korean MM114 that's going into my new/old Brooklyn this week. From what I can tell, it looks like these had a blend knob instead of two volumes and the location of 2 resistors are different, but all the values seem to be the same.
The bass on Ebay's preamp definitely looks more like the Korean ones.

That sounds cool. I was thinking simple as well, black with a 1.625" Pau Ferro or Maple neck, P-pickup (volume, active/passive, treble, and bass).
