I know for a fact there are some manufacturers who make retrofit Spector bridges; [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] should retrofit, for instance.
That said, I strongly dislike how the intonation and saddle adjustment work, and being a very high mass bridge it gives a very compressed response, which I don't like.

Oh I know. It's funny how many bass players I listen to and love that are still in standard E or drop D, and yet it just doesn't work for me anymore. It's the same feeling I get trying to play 4-string BEAD. My brain is tuned to BEADG or some variation of 5-string tuning. 6-string works because it adds to that.

Sucks because I love the classic 4-string Spector headstock. But ironically I wouldn't like that shape for the 5 or 6 so what they make now is good for me.

This is what the 9V pre looks like in my Spector NS2A.

It is of the same vintage (1987/88, no serial number on control cover) as the one listed on ebay right now.

So it seems the early NS-2As Korean Circuits had different pots.

Which means the one on ebay is just plain ol' NS-2A.

I'm old school enough to stick with standard tuning for all we play. I occasionally drop down to Eb if I sub for a friend but that's it. My band even brings AIC and others in Eb up to E. Too much of a pain to tune or have another bass ready to go. Especially now that I always have a four and a five string with me. I've gotten to the point where on any song that doesn't call for that B string I'm playing the four string.

But that's just the way I roll. ;) YMMV And it does. And it's all good.

PS... I'm not above trying a four string in BEAD.

I have really grown fond of the C#F#BE tuning and every so often drop to the B. I'm not a big drop tune fan but also have a bass set at D drop C but the C# tuning is taking over on song writing these days. I do alot of the D stuff on the 5 with the it tuned to A standard.

I love my two. Hope you enjoy it. Although I do have one oddity. My red one weighs more . Its a bit heavy but sounds and plays awesome.

Unfortunately Im trying to sell my red one. And I may make the blue one into a fretless.

With my euro coming I honestly dont need 4 basses. But just an early notice to everyone I will have a set of emg x pups for sale sometime in the next two weeks. P an J . Also im gonna sell the tone pump in it.

Its getting. Old sxhool seymour duncan apbs with the dipswitches amd a haz lab copy put in it. So if ur interested in either or hit me up. Prolly be about two to three weeks
