Sting wore Red Parachute Pants (nylon and prone to bleeding dye) as well as a red-multi-colored jacket on that tour.
It looks to me (having it there in the light I had - which was natural through skylights) that there was a lot of dye bleeding and transfer to it.
And parachute pants were known for this. Wash anything else with them and they'd ruin a load of laundry. Plus they'll melt if you put them in the dryer. LOL.
He sweat buckets each show. He was a very high-energy performer and they travelled all over the world and performed in numerous venues where they would have been exposed to heat and high temperatures.
Damn, if I ever gig a white Spector, I better watch out! I sweat a bit too.

You know being a teenager for most of the 80's (greatest decade ever BTW) I'm proud to say I never wore a pair of parachute pants or cuffed my jeans. Just wasn't redneck enough I guess. Now, glacier glasses....that's another story.

As far as trousers go, I'd have to admit to both, as well as spandex, but bear in mind I was gigging full time then... Wouldn't be pretty now though

Age alert... Yes the 80's were at the height of my playing professionally and yes, I wore/owned many pairs of parachute pants. They were required stageware until the late 80's when I switched to ripped jeans, spandex and REALLY big hair.
And I agree with Lee, the 80's rocked. Best decade of my life. The only thing I regret was not buying a Spector to play.

I was a teenager when I attended the Synchronicity Concert in the Omni in Atlanta in November of 1983. LOL.

Yeah. The 80's were great. I also had a pretty gnarly mullet. But not near as killer as PJ Rubal's!

HUMMM...yesterday was the 30th anniversary for the Sting bass and also the day the White NS2A sold for $2015, are we entering the twilight zone?

I wasn't a teenager until 1987, but yes, best decade ever for sure. No parachute pants either, but I was known to cuff my jeans at one point.
I was born in '81, but def a former french cuff roller here!!! ...jeans, khakis, didn't matter!
I even explained/demonstrated it to a group of 5th graders a few months ago and everyone of them were doing it by the end of the day! ...HILARIOUS!
I never did the Spandex or Parachute pants, give me Levi's and everything is alright!

For Halloween our drummer pulled out his 80's rocker uniform which was black spandex, he also spiked up the hair using aqua-net (I think)....it was funny looking thats for sure!
