Outdoor gig today. One of my few gigs I get to use my full rig.

fEARful 12/6 & 15/sub, Bmax-T, Carvin HD1500, BDDI/pedals and my white NS2A. I super pumped to be able to crank to a good volume.:bassist::bassist::bassist:

My Legend 5 will be making an appearance as a back-up as well.:D

All packed up and ready for the show, we will load in and get a sound check around 5 for the show time at 8...going to take the black cherry NS2 for this show with the fretless bass, starting to really dig this Pau Ferro neck a lot.

I used the ultra-scientific method of putting the bass case on the bathroom scale with and without the bass in it. Since the scale does increments of .2 which is 2/10 of a pound, these numbers are probably an ounce or two off by approximation.

UV NS-5XL with BEM: 10 lbs., 8 ounces
Coda 5XL: just about 11 lbs.
Webster: 10 lbs, 5 ounces
NS-6XL: just over 12 lbs.
Blue NS-5XL: 10 lbs, 8 ounces
Euro 5LX: 10 lbs, 6 ounces

That's a lot of wood!

WoW! ...seeing them all in a list, I've got to say that you have quite the collection going my friend! As far as the weight for each, I'm a little surprised that the Euro's weigh over 10, but I think that seems to be about the average for each of the US builds.

Thanks for weighing them! ...now I'm thinking a family pick is in order! :D

No doubt! That's a wicked collection! I'd also love to see a family pic if you ever get a chance.

FWIW.. My Euro 5LX weighs in at 10lbs 6Oz and doesn't feel that heavy to me with a good strap.

Thanks man. The Euros don't feel heavy to me so it could be the scale isnt really pinpoint accurate on weights under 30 lbs.

Maybe try to do some pics tomorrow. Today got away from sleeping in, setting up the Coda and UV 5XL with my strings and playing for a few hours. Ironically the bass I played most today was my other 5XL I bought used last year. That's got the P5/DC combo in it. It's a really nice midpoint in tone between the DC/DC 6XL and the P5/J on the other 5XL.

Been playing my Legend Classic 6 since a ton I got it and... I dunno if it's the EMG-JX pickups, or the BQC preamp or what but I'm liking the B string on this bass as much as my NS20005 which was 35" scale with the EMG-BT, I thought the 35" scale was what helped the bass have a B-string better than any I've played but maybe its just a Spector B-string thing...

So I guess I might not need my NS20005 with this 6 around...but it's so pretty and I love it...

What's a guy to do!

P/DC combo is hard to beat.

last night, first time ever to play my spector performer. plugged it into some beatup hartke with two 6s and a 15. then split di into the house. i also use a darkglass b7k. my god. i was cutting thru the mix. (btw i play in a 2 guitar setup metal band) man it sounded awesome. been a long time i felt happy with my live sound. even pur guitarists got surprised. i cant even imagine the poossibilities if i play higher end spectors. hehe:)

Congrats on the new bass and your first live show with it!
Spectors are like tattoos, once you get one, you'll spend all your time finding a way to get another.....and another...:D
