hang in here man, I understand your frustration. I felt the same way about the us 9v haz circuit. But GAS calms down, players like Lee, for instance, have discovered that Euro LX with a TP can really slay. I favor my Czech made bass but my #2 is a korean made NS2A and I love it, my 5er is a 2000/5 (korean) and I own a LegendX (korean). I don't think I will ever buy a US built Spector, I don't see the need to spend that kind of money when the "level" of bass I own all kill it live and in the studio.

HURRY!!

I don't comment on everything either. I don't care about where your bass was made lol. Hang in there and rock out with your... um... spector out :bassist:

Absolutely. I readily admit I did NOT give the TP enough time the first go around. This white Euro LX I have is the bomb. Played it again yesterday for The Shallowz practice and it killed. It's up again today for the cover band. Lately I'm picking the Euro up more than the USA's.

but that's not the case. so i guess it is what it is and there's nothing i can say to change anything, but as all lovers of spector basses, we should all try to encourage each other and compliment or criticize each other to get the absolute best out of our basses and sounds. that's the spector family i joined. but it seems to somehow got lost somewhere along the way and quite frankly, i really dont like the way things are now. on to your regular programming, i guess. like it or not, i just had to voice the way i feel to you guys.

This one became my new #1 and made me sell the (red) Kramer NS2. It's THAT good.

Finally, the Forte 4.
Recently updated with a trim Tone Pump.
Todd Cooke had Spector drop ship this to me in trade for the Tim Gaines (Stryper) NS2JJ I stumbled on when out in Los Angeles.
I needed a bass to tune to C Standard for all the recent Rock songs that seem to be using that (or Drop C) tuning these days.

That's it. I don't collect.
I just buy and sell as I need for what ever I'm doing at the time.
Probably will pick up a fretless sooner or later here.

Great collection....oh, I remember reading about the Stryper bass but forgot to ask Todd how the restoration was going...didn't he send it to the original painter?

Todd Told me he did. As a matter of fact that guy was how Todd did the final confirmation by looking into the pickup routes to see edges of the paint down inside.

'Fraid not. I'm kinda holding tight until Todd visits the shop next month and checks it out first hand. Maybe even get some pics of the partial builds. :D As far as I know things are on track for Nov on my five string, but the NS-2 I've not gotten an ETA on. Maybe then. I fear NAMM is going to mess with that delivery date. :(

Meantime I'll "Rock out with my Czech Spectors out" :bassist:, to paraphrase Donny. And that's a good thing.

I understand what your saying, I need to pull the NS2A out of its case and show it some love...would have liked to grab Sam's active pickups to install but I got to hold tight for a while.

As others have stated, it's hard not to "ooh" and "aah" when pictures are posted of the USA models - their rarity, figured woods, fancy inlays & jewel-like finishes make them undeniable works of art, and they naturally draw their share of admiration.

That said, I love all of my Spectors, and I've gotten tones out of my more affordable models that rival the best of the best.
I also love your black Spector NS-94 - its a very cool bass. :bassist:
I'm a firm believer in the old saying, "It's the painter - not his brushes - that transform the blank canvas into a work of art." I have far more respect for the music people make with their instruments than the instruments themselves.

Fact is the bass is going to Todd and I'm going to drive out there and pick it up. Like you, I want him to check out my playing style and adjust the set up to suit me. Also to take some glamor shots in his photo booth. Not to mention the chance to drool over some of his collection. :D

Here's a cool pic I had on my iPad that I took a while back. Quality's not too bad considering it was shot with the IPad, I just think it's from a cool angle!

I wish I would've dusted off the headstock before I took the picture but I wasn't expecting it to come out very well at all. You can also see how big the .158 Low B (A) is that I'm using. The tension feels perfect and I'm still super happy with these Circle K's. Might have to try a .166 eventually.

Heh, heh... Back in the 80's my guitarist referred to the strings of my four string as "tram cables". I gotta send this to him. :D

What are the other gauges?

I stopped by Skips shop (Circle K) last year. He also makes Quake basses which are tuned an Octave below a normal E string. His showed me his bass with a .250 E string..........Now that was a cable......BTW he's a super cool dude and a hell of a nice guy. If you're around Seattle he has a space in the U-district.
