I would get a nice frame for that and hang it in the living room...until the real thing arrives. Oh, would also make wallet sized and hand out to friends, family, neighbors. Maybe screen a t-shirt... screensaver...

This is very cool! At the neck joint will it be blacked-out or will they use some of the body material? Will the Pau Ferro be a lined fretless??

thanks for all the kind words! My focus is shifting from experimenting with/GASing for different gear to getting two really spectacular basses (one fretted, one fretless) to focus on while I take lessons and hone my technique/sound...I think this and my fretless will be PERFECT for this transition!

That is going to be sweet, the blacked-out joint will match the hardware and soap bar....but....fretted, your Mr. Fretless and I thought that was what you originally planned but what the heck you'll have some killer one of a kind basses (both fretless and fretted)!!!!!

I definitely am head over heels for my fretless!!!
...in fact, the last few fretted basses I've played have felt extremely odd/awkward since I've been solely playing the fretless since March! ...but I need a fretted for lessons and most of the music I'm going to be playing/learning/recording over the next year or so!

Amazing. Looks like it will be a fabulous bass. You know everyone here will want to hear sound clips of that beauty when she arrives. It like being in the delivery room with your wife, you can't wait to hear the first cry.......... Or in the case of Spectors, the first growl.

I hafta say the US B.O. necks are the best I have ever played. I would like to see what your "websterish" profile is like compared to the standard b.o. profile.
It'll be the typical Spector MM placement, so I'm pretty sure that will be relatively close.
I'm sure we can arrange to meet up after she gets delivered! I'd like to see what your new PJ/US9V is all about as well!

Just picked up my NS2A from Mike Lull. He did a full set-up and adjusted my hipshot D-tuner. Nothing like a new set of Roto 66's on it to get that Spector growl....
FYI for all the guys that have NS2A's, the D-tuner will need the lever ground down a little. Mike told me the Euros & US NS-2 do not have a little "hump" for lack of a better word which is right below the tuner & slightly above the nut. When the D-tuner is flipped to drop the pitch of the string it would hit the back of the neck. Just barely, but it hit none the less. It now works flawlessly and this bass just rocks......

that's what I'm hoping! ...this was about the time I got chose the wood for my fretless, so I'm guessing this will be ready about the same time...just after NAMM.

Is that the same Mike Lull that builds basses? Didn't realize he worked on Spectors, too. Is that how Eddie Jackson ended up playing Lull basses?
Mike has a luthier/repair business as well as his new-build business, and has and will work on nearly any brand. He is the best luthier on the West Coast.
