Absolutely. Guys, I've been a bit away from the forum recently as you probably noted. Moscow is in deep contradictions now - Moscow major election is coming soon... And being a part of Russian opposition now I will vote for Alexey Navalny, who is the only real opponent to Putin now. I'm in Alexey's supporters team. So...another 2 weeks and we'll see if Russia has any future or not....

Having read all the posts above here on the neck shape preferences and SAS-addiction, this post is actually my Spector Story:))) Once upon a time in Moscow (three years ago) out of curiousity I visited the guy who put up a Euro 435LX for sale. I met him in his garage in a rural area in Moscow suburbs and he gave me a black stain bass-guitar with black hardware and I noted its very smart and slim overall appearance. The combo was Roland Bass Micro Cube....Anyway I spent 5 minutes with this bass and payed the guy for it right there. That time my main player was $ 5 000 Pedulla Thunderbass. A week passed after I grabbed my Euro 435 when the Pedulla hit the road. As we mention the neck thickness, the Pedulla have rediculously thin necks...but it did not help:)) This Euro435 was IMO one of the best basses I ever had and I had very hard time parting with it even after I got my NS-2 and NS-2 fretless. Probably because it was the very bass I really felt soild with and also quite sentimental as I played it in a biggest open air rock festival in Russia in 2011...that time after the sound check the sound engineer of the fest took the microfone and said loud: " hey, this IS the bass I've just listened to...what gear do you other guys use and why??" :))) I was proud. Honestly.

I agree with the euro435! I miss mines..I just can't make the 4 string work in the new project

My 2 Kramer Spectors are basses that stopped my GAS for longer than a year already. And I must say that 1 year GAS-free when you still see other Spectors around in classfields is a good achievement!:) And having all respect to what Stuart makes nowdays these necks from Kramer era seems more comfortable for me personally. And Euro necks of course.

I believe Stuart is going back toward the Kramer era neck direction now. I have no complaints on the last 2 USA 5rs they've built for me in the last year. The necks have been pretty thin...comparable to the Ian Hill that I once had. MAN! I miss that IH every time I talk about it. :scowl:

I can verify this statement as true! I recently planted 8 trees in the yard and moved the mail box a little farther away from the driveway at my parents house last week and my hands have never been stronger! ...and I have a pretty difficult to fully close hand strengthening device in my car that I use all the time while sitting in traffic!! :D

I ordered my 6XL with a "thinner" neck profile as well based on the Webster. It was bound to feel a little different since it's 6 vs. 5 on the Webster, but I think it's pretty close in thickness. Definitely easier to play than my Euro 6LX-EX was.

That IS one interesting point that I have found on the USA builds that I've had...they are easier/faster to play than the Euro & Korean builds that I've owned. With the exception of the Ian Hill model Euro 4.

I do it all the time working for dish network. I'm used to it and my hands are severly calloused from hard labor. That's why I laugh at you guys that complain about rough strings. Pansies!:hiding:

A few weekends ago I had a Spectorversary: Two years since getting my NS2-A & I celebrated by taking it out for its first gig.

In the Cleveland Music Scene, there is a Bi-Annual event called the Lottery League where you sign up and are picked at random to form a Band with 3 other people.

You'll have 2 months to compose a 10-minute set to be performed at the marathon Big Show.

This year's Lottery League took place February through April. I signed up & the band that I ended up with was a complete disappointment: I HATE Garage Punk and the position of Bassist went to someone who'd never played it in their Life. Absolutely stupid.

I hadn't played Bass in Public since 1998 and this was to have been my return to it.

However - in the Avant-Garde/Free-Jazz/Noise faction of the Scene where I've been playing Synths for the past 3 years - we did something similar except that the Drawing & the Show occurred on the same day & we all just winged it.

I said "Dammit, this time I'm playing the Bass!".

It turned out wonderfully.

I may have a HUGE gig announcement to make soon: if anyone is near the Cleveland, OH. area and this happens, I'd love to see you there.

For thinner neck Spector basses the Ian Hill NS-2 Euro model has thinnest 4 string neck...the Legend 4 is right there close also. I've had both and both are amazing playing basses.

For 5 string basses the Webster Euro 5 model is the thinnest neck.

If you custom order a Spector bass you can request the neck that you want on your bass.

Like others have said on here...don't get really hung up on neck thickness/thinness, it's in the way the neck is hand sanded and shaped, it's comfort, unbelievable comfortable.

Funny you say that, the Coda I have actually used to belong to Lane, and after getting it setup to my liking I've been inclined to use it for ALL of my gigs lately; there's something really special about the construction, it's amazingly resonant and plays like butter, and the Aguilar pickups are incredibly dynamic; warm and smooth or aggressive and biting all controlled by your right hand.

Everything a Fender wishes it could be and more ;)
