I just want to take the time to thank everyone of you in the best bass thread on TB, for your great support and well wishes for recovery from my neck spinal surgery. I felt everyone's vibes while in the hospital. We have one awesome family here in TB!:) THANK YOU ALL!!! :cool: Peace to all:) (Still trying to catch up on all the reading lol)

If you felt my vibes in the hopital, I had entirely too many beans :D We're all glad you're doing good, buddy!

I did that also...take both 4&5 to gigs. I find tonal subtleties that I prefer off the B string vs. the E string. I don't play an open B very often either but I do make use of the other lower notes quite often, plus I prefer the scale patterns more on a 5. When ending a song on a low B,C or D...I get a lot of head nods and positive comments. But...in my gigs genre', Praise/Worship, the bass was brought into the church to replace the big ole pipe organs, so I find having the B string important in my case.:):bassist: (plus I like seeing my band get that special smile on their faces when the 218" vibrates the whole stage :D)

I know that feeling, I have 3 basses I'm trying to sell so I can afford another Spector I've got my eye on, but I'm getting nowhere slow. All I ever get are trade requests on my for-sale-only threads.

it's a tough time of year. other than around christmas, this is about the most expensive time of year for anyone with kids in school.

I have two or three things I really need to list and I haven't just because I don't want to deal with it.

Thinking about replacing the active circuit and EMGs with a set of quarter pounders. I love the feel off my spector, but not so big on the active.
I guess the pots would be vol, vol, master tone, and a pickup switch maybe... Idk, thoughts??? ImageUploadedByTalkBass1377316612.635015.jpg

Very cool, but be warned - Spector basses are positively addicting...

A nice used Euro or CRFM would do the trick, and might even be the only Spector you'd ever need...:bassist:
IMHO, a good used Euro is the best bang for the buck on the planet. I regularly alternate between my Euro and USA basses, and the Euro absolutely holds its own.

If you couldn't swing one of those, the Legends and Rebops are also great values.

Heck, as long as it says "Spector" on the peghead, you're pretty much good to go! :D

Maybe vol/vol/tone/tone or vol/blend/tone/tone? I'd be nice to have the option of a tone for each pickup

My 2 Kramer Spectors are basses that stopped my GAS for longer than a year already. And I must say that 1 year GAS-free when you still see other Spectors around in classfields is a good achievement!:) And having all respect to what Stuart makes nowdays these necks from Kramer era seems more comfortable for me personally. And Euro necks of course.
