So...no go on the truss nut extraction. It's in to my luthier. The fretboard needs to be lifted & the rod extracted. $130 later.

Oh man...still cheaper than a replacement neck...

If I ever decide to wade into the waters of buying more US builds purely for looks, ebony with abalone is right at the top of my list. It would likely be a Bahama Blue pairing like Dave Fowler's. The other would be a 5-string version of the Black Pearl. But these would be years from now. This year has been so insane. I need to throttle back LOL.

And I just put my order in for a custom Black Cherry matte stain Euro 6LX. They say it'll be delivered in November, but last time it was delayed 2 months so I'll see it in January! If it's as dark as I imagine, I'll name it Bloodface.
