Yup, first 6r, but I am confident I'll handle it ok... I hope.

I think you'll be fine. For me, the biggest challenge was (and still is sometimes) that I played guitar before ever playing 6-string bass, so I was use to going from G to B on the guitar, and now I had to go from G to C on the bass. It's been 18 years and there are times I am not 100% sure of the note I'm going to play!

I didn't want to do the guitar tuning on bass for harmonic reasons plus I like the C. I think if you just practice some scale formations by expanding them to the C string that will help a lot. Maybe Christian can chime in on how his transition went.

I guess that's where learning on bass & not knowing a guitar from a banjo helps me. I instinctively played the C on my BTB like every other string. It was quite easy to adjust. :)

Yeah I could see where that would be easy considering it just continues the tuning in 4ths. To be honest I haven't played 6-string regularly for years but I am getting back into it now since I have the 6XL. I expect it will be second nature again soon. :)
