I don't understand your deal w/ the DI though? It has a DI level on the front- and I just adjust it from there independent of the Volume.

Either way, it really does just envelop the band and gives you that big solid foundation which I like.

If i change my volume, i also change the DI volume. We make soundboard recordings every rehearsal and it is somewhat tricky to find a good volume balance e-drum and bass. Sometimes the singer wants it a bit louder or less volume, and then the fiddling starts ;)

Are you saying that changing the master volume on your bass amp changes the level of the DI? It shouldn't be that way.

I think this amp has a Pre DI (runs a clean direct signal) or a Post DI (runs a signal using the pre-amp which is similar to running a mic out front of the cabinet and changes if anything is adjusted)...sounds like your not using the DI in pre mode and mixing the bass at the board....right?

It's always been my experience Carey with all my amps that even the post setting on the DI is still pre master volume control. YMMV :D

If you adjust the input volume then yes, the output of the DI will vary. But the master (final) volume should never change the output of the DI. IMHO

Guys, what can you say about GK MB200 micro-head? I know it's only 140 Watt at 8 Ohm but one guy sells one locally at a steal price. I'm looking for a small portable head. My #1 plan was MarkBass F1 but it's a bit pricey even after being discontinued...or GK? What do you amp experts think?

GK has a "baked in" tone. If that's what you like then get it. If not, don't. If you don't know what that tone is, try it out. :bassist:

I'd say go for it. I am a bit over the GK sound right now, BUT having seen a few videos you have posted I think it will lend itself well to your style. IMHO, YMMV

Tempting...yes, the video I posted here is actually what I play like you say...Thanks for an idea, I will try to find one and try before buying anyway.

Spent two hours getting acquainted with this one over the weekend. A very different animal than my other two Euros, and I suppose that was what I was after when I picked it up. Not that much of a challenge negotiating the standard neck as I had initially feared, as I am pretty much a jazz neck aficionado. Love the neck pickup, not so sure of bridge as there was a noticeable volume drop between the two.

For the record......I hate Stuart Spector and his poopy basses........
Especially my SSD.
I hate it I hate it I hate it.........
In fact I hate to SOOOO much, I don't think I could stand the thought of any of you owning it. So I'll hang on to and as a public service, I'm gonna play it a lot to show other bass players how crappy it is.

You all can thank me later.
