bass player live was a lot of fun, I got to try out a whole bunch of US Spectors. I hung out at the Spector booth quite a bit. the new Coda with the PJ pups are cool, but I kept gravitating to 2 basses. a Forte4 and a Coda with Spector pups and buckeye burl top. If you want aggressive J bass tone get the Spector pups, they sound great and take pedals VERY well. Here are a few pics from my phone . nothing great.

Rudy Sarzo was hanging out and boy does he really love Spectors. I mean he couldn't stop talking about how great they sound.

I'm in!!
I get an used Alex Webster Signature today.
It's a very nice bass.
But I found there is a big problem.
I use AW with comfort strapp and it has a serious neck dive.
How to solve it?
Here's a what if...
For a clean hi fi sound, would the Carvin BX1500 or the MB800/Fusion800 better suit purpose?

Yeah you mentioned it might be a little high. I'll check it out, I hit hard a lot of the time but I like a little grind a-la Billy Sheehan (not that I play anywhere near that well!) so I keep my basses set up fairly low.
Just FYI Jeremy, I had the bass at my tech less than two months ago and I don't know how you like the neck set up but I had him put just a little relief on it. If you have a lighter touch you may want to lower the action a bit.
Although if you want your tech to set it up by all means go for it. It's probably what I'd do.![]()

Welcome to the madness! A fine monster bass, congratulations.
About the neck dive: there is yet a type of neckdive that i could not solve with a raw, broad strap. Something that does not slip on your shoulder... like buckskin/suede.

How much relief do you like to run on your basses Jeff?
A big climate change from NY to CA.

I want that Forte if my Euro sells this week. Will be in touch to swing by and test drive it.
I'm afraid I don't have a measurement. My tech sets it up for me with what he calls "a little relief". He's been working on my basses since the late 80's and I just let him do what he does. I may tweak the saddle height a bit.
PS... Right now Brownie is still using the setup from Spector and Purp was set up by Todd.
I know you meant NM to CA.![]()
