bass player live was a lot of fun, I got to try out a whole bunch of US Spectors. I hung out at the Spector booth quite a bit. the new Coda with the PJ pups are cool, but I kept gravitating to 2 basses. a Forte4 and a Coda with Spector pups and buckeye burl top. If you want aggressive J bass tone get the Spector pups, they sound great and take pedals VERY well. Here are a few pics from my phone…. nothing great.

Rudy Sarzo was hanging out and boy does he really love Spectors. I mean he couldn't stop talking about how great they sound.

I'm in!!
I get an used Alex Webster Signature today.
It's a very nice bass.
But I found there is a big problem.
I use AW with comfort strapp and it has a serious neck dive.
How to solve it?

Welcome to the madness! A fine monster bass, congratulations.

About the neck dive: there is yet a type of neckdive that i could not solve with a raw, broad strap. Something that does not slip on your shoulder... like buckskin/suede.

You might want to leave the case open for a couple of days to let your new Spector acclimate first before making any adjustments. A big climate change from NY to CA.

Although if you want your tech to set it up by all means go for it. It's probably what I'd do. ;)

I'm afraid I don't have a measurement. My tech sets it up for me with what he calls "a little relief". He's been working on my basses since the late 80's and I just let him do what he does. I may tweak the saddle height a bit.

PS... Right now Brownie is still using the setup from Spector and Purp was set up by Todd.

I like my relief to be within .010" and .015", Bunk told me once that .015" works great for him. Iris right now is holding at .010" and Scarlet is .015". The NS2A sets between .012" and .014" depending on the season...or could be how I'm measuring! lol

Both are down south so you might be alright then....
