bass player live was a lot of fun, I got to try out a whole bunch of US Spectors. I hung out at the Spector booth quite a bit. the new Coda with the PJ pups are cool, but I kept gravitating to 2 basses. a Forte4 and a Coda with Spector pups and buckeye burl top. If you want aggressive J bass tone get the Spector pups, they sound great and take pedals VERY well. Here are a few pics from my phone…. nothing great.

That depends on your model. Some use Gotoh, some use Schaller. Different years even use different tuners, now.

Mine is AW signature. It seems like Schaller M4.

I would call Todd Cooke at the Guitar House, He sells Spector basses and might even have what your needing to correct your problem (918) 835-6959.

The P/J and buckeye Coda with the Spector pickups were my two favorites; a more traditional Spector growl out of the P/J with some great Precision tones, and the buckeye could go from very aggressive with the tone rolled open to totally polite with the tone rolled off and everything in between.

The Forte 5 with the Aguilar DCB pickups also sounded incredible, just ridiculously punchy with a ton of bottom end and note clarity...good times all around

yup I played the Coda with the Aguilar hum bucker pups in it. It was pretty great, softer more "woody" tone than the others. The Forte5 also had the Aguilar hum buckers, and that was great also. Something different for sure .

The Coda PJ was cool. The green was amazing on it and the P really fattened up the tone. Since it is the first one, there is some experimenting to do with it. PJ mentioned throwing a hotter P pup in it. with both pups dimed you actually got a loss in volume.

o ya.. simply amazing, necks were perfect. I had to jam the violet beauty for a bit. they were stunning and sounded GREAT. I kept gravitating to the Forte 4 because of the neck finish.

when you plug in an NS2 it just sounds good, no arguing with that.

Which Coda Buckeye Burl, left or center one? I can't see the pickups on the left one in back row.

Initial unplugged impression: love, love LOVE the matte finish neck. Bass is snappy and growly, even just played acoustically.

PJ said someone was asking about a P only coda but they haven't made one yet IIRC. There wasn't one there.
