Just saw this post on CL:

definitely not a Forte as he has listed in the description, but looks to be a Euro (SSD era I would guess by the dot inlays, but the Spector logo at the top looks wrong for the SSD), and if it checks out fine, seems to be one heluva deal.

This was probably right when Stuart regained his legal right to use the original logo. Like you said the dot inlays note the SSD era, and the bridge (matte brass) is from that mid-90s time frame. I have an SSD NS-4CR with dots and that same bridge, but mine has the SSD logo and truss rod cover. There are folks on here that can probably tell you the month that bass was made. I'm not one of them! :D

Oh yeah, not a Forte. I'd bet a "transition" ns5crfm. Good price me thinks.

A '98 or early '99 NS5CR. Transition from when Stuart regained his rights and was starting to put inlays in the Czechs and making all 5's and 6's (USA's too) 35" scale. This bass could be either 34" or 35" scale. FWIW, matte bridges continued well into 2001. I actually saw an early 2002 Euro4 with one.

That's a 34" scale 5er and has the solid brass bridge... Snatch it...... The 34" scales are really nice. I like the finish even. I have a fretless euro5 that same color.

This guy can call it whatever he wants, we know that it's a Euro, plus it might be a good thing that he doesn't seem to know much about it because it's a bargain to the first guy who calls this number!

Do you know the seller to be so definitive?

If it matters to you, check with the seller first.
Many of the transition basses were 35" as well as many being 34".
