Still sending messages back and fourth with the seller of the green Euro 5 I'm eyeballing. It appears to be a 2001 pre LX (35" scale) but the preamp is unknown.

The bass is a little more then I would like to pay right now (especially since I've missed out on several green 5's) but it's in great shape and I'm sure it'll look even better in person.

Hopefully gonna be sending my payment tonight!

Awesome! I'm really hoping for the OBP-1 as I swapped out the non trim TP out of my blue 5LX for the OBP-3. I plan on eventually throwing a trim TP or maybe a USA 9V (when available) in the Green Euro for a more 'aggressive' tone. I'm excited to compare the pre LX to the LX Euro 5 side by side too.

Looking for an inexpensive solution for rehearsals I'm not hauling my own backline to (have a Korg DTR-1 when I do) and wanted to find out if any of you are using them with success. $10-20 for a tuner sounds tempting, provided it works properly. I know with bass gear, you get what you pay for a lot of the time.

I struggled with one Korg clip-on tuner for a while but could not get it right because it "hears" all the other loud sounds around via vibration of your bass, for example at live setting or at loud settings on rehearsal when the guitards are playing or even a snare drum is hit. All that interferes with your bass tone and you just can't tune it right untill it's silece around. And even then it's not as accurate as normal plug-in tuner.

I have the ClearTune app on my iPhone currently, but it suffers from the same issue - it's useless when guitarists are noodling and drums are being banged on. Otherwise, it's very, very accurate. I suppose I should look into seeing if some sort of input adapter is available for my iPhone 5 that would allow it to work like a plug in tuner.

I have always used a stomp box tuner with a cord, helps to keep it isolated.

I would just pick up a used tuner pedal or a plug in one. My Hartke tuner has a through feature if that is a desirable feature for you.

I have a PlanetWave headstock tuner, I tried it but it doesn't want to register the B string so I use it on my Acoustic guitar just fine. I currently had been using a Sabine stx-1100 plug in tuner which works great. I'd like to buy a korg stomp box tuner someday. Maybe Santa will bring me one???

I tried the Planet Waves one and didn't really like it too much. It seemed ok when I first got it but then after like a week or two, it got all flaky and acted like the string was never in tune even if it was.

I compared it with the tuner on my TC RH450 and also a Korg Pitchblack + and when both of those said the string was in tune, the headstock tuner said it wasn't so I haven't even used it since.

Unless a former owner swapped it, a Euro5 NB0155 should have a OBP1 in it.

I'm afraid you get what you pay for here. My TCE heads have a tuner built in (I LOVE that feature). Otherwise, I always keep a Boss TU-12EX in my gig bag pouch. I used to use a Korg Pitch Black but don't have a need anymore. If you'd like to buy it PM me.

Both of these tuners are great pedal.....

Yeah, they're different.

And like I said, I just can't bring myself to taking steel wool to my USAs.

Besides, even though I might prefer the feel of matte, my NS-2 and NS-5XL still play like buttah'.

Unless a former owner swapped it, a Euro5 NB0155 should have a OBP1 in it.

Agreed.
My Euro4 is later (NB0508) and it had an OBP-1 originally.

Snark SN-5 (Black) works pretty good but the B needs the 12th fret octave to track well. Much better than the D'Addario micro or Planet Waves clip-on IMO.

I have the same thing. Tried a Snark & a PW. Neither one ever shows true. The Behringer, Boss & Pitchblack all show dead on, but the headstocks are ALWAYS wrong.

I just installed a tone pump, but now I can barely hear my d and G strings. They're not just "weak strings," they actually have lower levels. Anyone have a fix? Please help.

I've seen sexy Spectors, beautiful Spectors, kick-ass Spectors, and of course, your "run-of-the-mill" Spectors (read: still freakin' cool).

I would say, that one is an elegant Spector. Very classy looking, understated yet still commands attention.

Ok, that sounds like an ad for cologne or something... "Refined, for the tastes of the sophisticated bassist. Slap it on and experience the scent of pure Spector tone"...*ahem*, ok, I need to lay off the beer now.

I've never seen that finish/color before. Sweet.

You got something wrong unless your pickups are REALLY low.
