Funny as that would be, no.Does it involve dressing up like Little Red Riding Hood?
Because I really don't want to do that anymore.
And I'm not near Cleveland anyway....![]()

Jeff, that is an older EMG circuit. I forget the name but it is a mid sweep on the stacked knob. It is not the current EMG 3 band pre tho so I imagine it to sound different.

Anymore?![]()
I don't know that a broke rebop5 is worth a working Legend5.![]()
If there's a volume, blend, and the stacked knob is mid w/sweep; then that leaves one more knob, is that just a generic "tone" knob? Confused.![]()
Can I get everyone's input on my situation.
My ReBop 5DLX neck isn't looking like it's going to be an easy fix for me. Couple this with limited income & I'm left in a situation where I don't have a working Spector.
I have 2 other basses in working order (Fender P & a Jackson CBX-V) but I really miss the sound & feel of my Spector.
Would you guys sell the ReBop loaded body (40J pickups w/ non-trim tonepump) and try to find a used Legend 5, or would you try to scrape up the cash for a new neck?
I've checked with Hanser & it looks like the neck will set me back $350 rosewood or $450 maple + shipping/duty/tax...so well over $500. *sigh* This would take me about 6 months to save up, given my current expenses.
How much do you think I could get for the loaded body? Would it be worth it to swap the body back to the EMG-HZ pickups & sell the 40Js separately?
Would anyone be interested in purchasing the body, or perhaps trading me a Legend 5 for it?
sorry about your Packers, Wolftower5
Yeah, I thought we had a chance. I think the weather was the only thing that kept them in the game. Had we played at candlestick I doubt it would have been that close. Kapernick is just way too much for our defense, too many injuries and poor Defensive coordinator. Oh well, onto to next season. Still love my team, always will.
That's a beauty for sure! Also Guitar House has a few on there as well that I'd like...Walnut NS-2 SE lV #1Gaaaaah......wish bass.......

Isn't that some difference?!?! Go figure huh...$225 for a legend neck, but you'll be set back over $400 for a ReBop 5...and then shipping/duty/taxes as it crosses the border for me.

Too bad you don't know someone close to the border on the USA side that could hold a new ReBop neck for you, then you drive over to get it...just a thought. What about putting in the TR yourself and have a Luthier do the leveling? Would that be less costly? Don't bail out now...you've come too far!The truss rod in the neck was seized, due to a sloppy glue job at the factory. I have the neck open & a new truss rod on the way, but it's looking like levelling the neck to reglue the board down is more than my skills can handle.
The Rebop's got EMG 40J pickups in it, and I've even wired in the hot swap control board, so you can swap in a different set of EMGs just by unplugging them & plugging the new ones in.![]()

So I had a little adventure in setup
haven't had my euro very long, so I decided to try some different strings- had a set of DR hi beams 40-100 and wanted a bit more body so I picked up a set of lo riders, 45-105.
Oddly enough, the E and A strings were too gig for the stock cut slots. Kind of odd, but I have a nice set of files so I went ahead and widened them, smoothed them out (they were pretty roughly cut, not a great job) and took the opportunity to go a bit deeper as they nut was cut pretty high.
I decided to go ahead and do a full setup and intonation, and to try a no- relief setting with the truss (or see how low I could get a playable action) The bass seems to have a tiny bit ski jump going on but the neck straightened out like a champ, and I was able to get a very low action- this bass rivals a couple Smiths and the majority of instruments i've owned. I liked the factory setup, but it's now got straight up shredder action and the heavier strings are sounding excellent, much better.
Anyone else have to cut their nut wider/ deeper on their euro 4? Maybe it's just cut for the signature preference, since it's an Ian Hill
Also wondering about neck relief and anyones experiences/ preferences.
The neck has been extremely stable thus far.
Thanks!
and I always set the neck flat. But that did happen to my former NS-2A with the string nut, but I switched the nut out for a custom made brass nut cut for BEAD tuning. Never had to adjust the neck on that one. It's amazing how a bass made way back in 1987 neck can be THAT sturdy to not need adjusting. Is anyone using this AmpKit app for iOS?

Looking at the pic, is looks like vol, vol, stack bass/treble and mid, no sweep.

I do believe this is correct.
Either that, or it is vol, balance, stacked bass & treble, and mid.
I do know there is a huge difference between my legend and ReBop necks. I guess my biggest question is, can you find another 5er used in Canada? How close to the US border are you? If you drove across to pickup a 5er on this side, would they question it going back?
Personally if you've got that much invested into it, I would try to sell off the CBX-V for 300-350 and go from there. It sounds as if you love your spector.
Isn't that some difference?!?! Go figure huh...
