Hello everyone , I recently bought a Spector NS95 and was looking inside while I was installing a new jack and noticed it has two DIP slide switches on a small circuit board . I did a bit of a search here and found that this is a EMG BTS preamp and that the switches control the treble pot's frequency . Is that right ? Is it a EMG BTS preamp and does anyone know what switch positions are used for the various changes ?

It would be cool to see the work done if the luthier has a camera and the time to show how he makes the swap! So this is a Korean bass getting a USA fretless neck?

One is a +10dB for the Treble and the other should be a +10dB for the bass, if I remember correctly. Just play with it.
Oh ok , got it. Thought it might change frequency centre or something . But a + or - 10dB treble and bass change makes sense .

Well... Not sure why the shop in NY would have a neck that was made for a Korean Legend (they aren't the deep socket type so the USBO and Rebop necks won't work), but there it was. And it will be here Thursday.
Turns out it is lined (I had asked for unlined). But according to Scott Devine having lines is important when starting to play fretless, plus they didn't have any others and Jimmy says ALL Korean fretless basses are lined. So I took it.
I have that pre in my NS-2J
it gives you the choice of 2100, 3500, 4500, and 7000Hz as your center frequencies for the treble side.

Interesting. And here I thought my playing with toggles gave me +/- dB on both.
I really like that about these EMG pre's. I usually try all of them out, cut and boost the treble eq and see which setting sounds best with my bass

Yes that is a nice touch for sure and to have the graphs and diagrams and schematics etcetera from that information page is great !

Post script : To awilkie84 , I have a brother in Summerland BC and to srvlives4evr I was in Scottsdale Arizona once about a hundred years ago , love both places .
I have an uncle who has parents in Summerland. It's a very pretty town. I could see myself living there when I retire, if it wasn't so far out of the way.
I know what you mean , it is a little ways from Kelowna and Penticton , but beautiful , gotta love the Okanagan valley . My brother was living in Banff Alberta for about 15 years . I am the one who showed him how gorgeous the Okanagan valley was during a visit to see him and a number of years later he moved there . You could always go to Kelowna seems like a nice city there . Still the Okanagan valley and not too far from Summerland.

None of those are really fun basslines except for "Only the Young" which has quite a few cool runs in it, but at least it's better than the stuff we were trying to play before. And, my tone KILLS through that SVT rig at the rehearsal studio, which makes it fun to play about anything.
