Question for anyone who knows: Is the X body curved/carved like the NS body is?

I don't believe so, I think it's a slab body with a tummy contour.
Coda's are seriously misunderstood creatures.

Is it the five strings, or the Coda body that wasn't ergo for you? With my Coda, after I got used to the NS body style, the Coda felt a different when I played it.

The closest one to me is about an hour and a half away. It's been a while since I've been to one. I had a boat and went fishing nearly every weekend for six years, until I got serious about my music again, and that's been around 7 1/2 years ago, now.
They are really nice basses, and after having played fender basses over the years, the Coda felt just right, and played better than my Fenders.
I have a boat and have been exploring the lakes in Blue Springs, one of the reasons for moving here was because of the lakes...and...we didn't really want to live in the city! lol
I had some great times with my boat. Down here in Louisiana, we've got everything from fresh to salt water fishing, and I experienced a little of both. Did a lot of exploring using my GPS, that I couldn't have done otherwise.
I noticed that the lights are shining on the Black Cherry, maybe this one will work better! lol
Nah, it's the Slab body style with the lack of curved back. Since I've sold my Coda I've noticed that the Fender bodies are thinner with their more modern basses. I love holding the NS style body to me while playing. Feels soooo comfy.

I'm with you on the NS body style. After getting used to it, they are awesome.
