Some crazy figuring on this bass, never seen anything like it.
Hard to capture in pics, and subtle because of the deep blue, but I love it.

I agree, something brand new and very interesting would be cool....We need to introduce a new color to the Spector brand kind of like how Todd introduced the Purple Daze, something that might lead us into color rather than wood quality...I have 5 quilted maple finishes in this room and I need a change please! lol

Chrome colours would be cool, but they can be hard to pull off well. Metallics would be the next logical step. :) Maybe a metallic black or red...or both! Incorporate the racing stripe idea into a metallic finish. :D

Todd can correct me if I'm wrong but I think he once said that I am the person who has the most playing hours on that bass, he purchased this bass as a collector item and when I first met him he allowed me to play it and then later said 'This bass has never been played so you have more time on it than I do' he handed it back to me later when I was in the sound room at the Guitar House while he set up Iris for me and it was at this time I found the true sound of my #1 bass which is Scarlet...I knew right then that he was my friend, I mean who else would you trust with a bass that is valued at 3 times a current American built bass? I don't have to say anymore as a lot of you know the type of friend Todd is...I mean he lives and breaths Spector basses so if you own one your part of his family! lol

Thanks, I'm very excited to have found the Spector that meets my needs. No issues with the B-string either and the D & G strings sound fuller and fatter to me. The neck profile is also thicker front-to-back than my Euro was and I definitely prefer a thicker neck on my Spectors. My Euro LX's neck (the one traded to xhawk5) seemed to have a thinner profile like my old ReBop had. It wasn't uncomfortable, something about those deep neck shapes on Spectors just feels right to me.

I'm taking it to practice tomorrow for the first time and I'm very excited to hear how she does. My first Spector was a NS-5CRFM, and that was my favorite bass for a long time. The weight of the bass, plus the 35" scale, did me in. But, I never forgot how much I loved that bass. I am really happy to have another without the massive weight and the with the shorter scale length. Like I said when I first posted about it, I think I found my keeper.
