I had this bass for about a year or so......when i sold it to Jeff, my wife was not happy. It was (and still is) her fav bass that i played for her. LOL.... who knew that a wife would get mad if you SOLD a bass!! Lesson duly noted! ;)

Hey all, I'm finally getting ready to purchase my first Spector after years of wanting one. I currently play a Steinberger and a few other instruments (Status, Dingwall) but I've always been a fan of the Spector tone. I am primarily interested in a Forte 5 and wanted to get some opinions regarding weight, neck profile etc. From what I've seen, I should be fine, but I'm here to ask the experts. If anyone has a lead on a used instrument in great shape, feel free to let me know. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the quick link. I guess I should have clarified. I am pretty much looking for the stock (black) Forte 5. I'm not a huge fan of the gold or chrome hardware...so the black appeals to me. I like the "no frills" look of the Forte while still retaining the made in the USA quality (although I'm sure the Czech stuff is pretty nice too).

this one, is a particularly fine example, and priced to go

I thought I had seen a Forte in the classifieds but it wound up being a 6 string....

I'm actually going to be listing my Forte 5 with Sims Super Quad pickups and Darkglass Tone Capsule in the next few days. Not sure if you would be interested.
