The story they gave me was they used to do it all the time, but stopped due to "stability issues".I didn't know they could do that.
15 years for the first and nearly 10 for the second. No "stability issues"......

Interesting to read about these design issues. For those of you talking Hipshot Extenders a few posts ago,
here's a recent, amazing customer service experience with them:
Hipshot Extenders don't work as advertised with small post tuners.
Huh???Some polarizing content on the Spector IG today.
As in...these are available for purchasing now???View attachment 3182265 And this just happened... Euro435LX Fingerboard...
I had this bass for about a year or so......when i sold it to Jeff, my wife was not happy. It was (and still is) her fav bass that i played for her. LOL.... who knew that a wife would get mad if you SOLD a bass!! Lesson duly noted!NSD!! I've always had a soft spot for this bass, and thanks to Jeff it now is here!! I assume he's referring to the person that posted some Spectors that had both gun and military related themes to them. And as you can imagine it stirred up the pot. Probably best left alone here on TB.Huh???

Thanks for the quick link. I guess I should have clarified. I am pretty much looking for the stock (black) Forte 5. I'm not a huge fan of the gold or chrome hardware...so the black appeals to me. I like the "no frills" look of the Forte while still retaining the made in the USA quality (although I'm sure the Czech stuff is pretty nice too).
I thought I had seen a Forte in the classifieds but it wound up being a 6 string....Thanks for the quick link. I guess I should have clarified. I am pretty much looking for the stock (black) Forte 5. Hey all, I'm finally getting ready to purchase my first Spector after years of wanting one. I currently play a Steinberger and a few other instruments (Status, Dingwall) but I've always been a fan of the Spector tone. I am primarily interested in a Forte 5 and wanted to get some opinions regarding weight, neck profile etc. From what I've seen, I should be fine, but I'm here to ask the experts. If anyone has a lead on a used instrument in great shape, feel free to let me know. Thanks for the help!
