SPECTOR® Owners Club

You have been fantastic. All of you. I wanted a Spector for years, a thought that came went, shades of grey & all that. Using a variety of different basses through the years (Fender, Warwick, Sandberg, Sadowsky) all fantastic in their own right, let’s not tread on anyones toes here.

HOWEVER.

Listening to bands throughout the years, & the ones that grabbed my attention was the ones when you could that piano, cutting, full on, open note ring of (very hard to put into words but I’ll try) when you smack a fresh string on a certain bass and you get that “Barrrrrrrrrrr!” Sound.

That’s the tone I wanted for years, I got closer and closer & after unboxing that hardcase & taking the bass out, plugging it in…….and I heard the Spector tone with my own ears instead of a speaker coming a youtube video for the first time.

“There it is” I said to myself, eyes closed, jaw dropped.

That’s also how much music itself & the weapon of choice being the bass to make music means to me.

I'm happy little British man.

Thank you guys, thank you.

I will update after I’ve had another chance to have a tinker.

I may be a full-on Peavey Cirrus man now, but I still have several Spectors and I still say...
Nothing growls like a Spector, Baby!

Absolutely Beautiful !! Love the sound of walnut!

I did a couple shows with a country band last weekend, and I have to say, my Eurobolt was perfect! The Aggie pickups and preamp were warm, crisp, and modern…exactly what I needed!

BIG Congrats Vinny. That bass is a beauty. I am only a few years behind you on the Spector bandwagon. Enjoy your new baby.

Hi All,
I've recently had the chance to track with my NS2000/5 for a friend's metal project.
Feel free to check it out if you like!
The bass has been upgraded with DC40 pups and the Mighty Mite Haz clone.
I think it represents the Spector tone fairly well.
(First time posting a link, so fingers crossed you'll be able to listen)

My NS2000/5 sounds awesome and I cant wait to get it in the studio. I put an EMG BQC preamp in it and DC/CS pickups. Not gonna get the pure Haz tone but it sounds as good as any bass out there, especially for metal. With the maple body, brass nut and bridge along with the neck through design it all makes for a monster sound. I leave everything flat and do all the eq and tone shaping at the amp when playing live. Then if any tweaking is needed I dont have to approach the amp. In the studio I can get almost any tone out of the bass itself. Love these Korean Spectors. A bit heavy, but they are underrated and overlooked.

I'm hoping one will pop up on GC site used for a bargain soon, and I'll snag it. I really want one.

So I made a really quick rough mix using my Euro 5 with tonepump pre and the fresh set of Blue Steels.
The bass may be a bit loud in the mix, but I wanted it to sound like a monster truck just crushing everything in it's path :)

Any and all feedback is welcome!

Thank you! This build came together just as planned, I am super happy with the it turned out. Been playing it like crazy since I picked it up. Such a great growl!!!

Keep on grooving, & gift yourself, like I did, with a new one for an anniversary if you playing Spector’s! Haha

This might be absolutely ridiculous but hear me out.

Yesterday me and my partner were watching The Crow from 94 and there are a few scenes in it taking place in a pawn shop. On the wall there, you could see some basses and one of them looked like a spector, I'm about 64.32% sure of that.

Really cool.

Also the movie is so moody and grungy and stupid, plus I'm born in 94 so... Hell yeah dude! *guitar riff solo*

Thats all :roflmao::bassist:
