SPECTOR® Owners Club

Picked up a new thing. A couple of the bands I'm in are getting more experimental, one is starting to get a bit more progressive and the other is a power trio that likes weird stuff, so I have a lot of space to fill. I have an aversion to giant pedalboards, so this seemed like a viable compromise.

The pic below is was me putting my current rig in the box, so an OC2, B7K, Bass Wah, BDDI, SVT and 810E. The 2nd version of that setup is starting to look more like Justin Chancellor plugged into my taste in amplifiers.

To keep this Spector related, I can run the preamp dimed and not overload the input of this thing. So, now I have an OC2 that doesn't clip.

Congrats on the QC! Just received my QCm and got it wired in up. Amazing how competent and intuitive these things are. Parallax X sounds pretty beastly with the Dimension PX/DCX LHZ.

Been using the QC for a few years. I switched to the Darkglass Anagram. I feel the Spectors sound better with the Anagram. Both are great though! Photo of my NS-5 for keeping it Spector related! 😎

Hey, Does anyone know where to get more details on the SNC haz clone preamp? Like a wiring diagram or schematic? I'm currently in possession of a Euro LT with it installed (the 2 board version), and trying to troubleshoot some loose connection or short.
I would post in one of the Facebook Spector groups. Sheldon Crane is still sometimes there and may answer. But it's a Haz clone so any Haz schematic would be identical.

Local guy on FB marketplace just posted a Kramer era and a Woodstock. I wish I had a lot of spare money laying around.
Is there much value in those instruments from a "working bass" perspective? Both my basses have the Legacy preamp and I don't have in person experience with the haz or it's clones, but are all Spectors that are equipped for the "Spector sound" fairly equal?

no idea, never played or owned a USA spector, but they sure are pretty. haven't seen quilt like that on any import models.

additionally, i love your CST. beauty!
When I decided to go have a look at the Spectors at the local shop, I did all sorts of reading and watching videos so I was prepared for the experience.

The purple CST was by far my favourite of the bunch (PJ, and great colour), but the store inventory showed only the black CST with gold hardware. When I arrived, there it was. Apparently it was sold already, but the buyer was in a dispute about who was going to pay shipping. The store has their own trucks and transfer system, but it takes weeks. The customer wanted free courier next day shipping, and that was the moment I walked in.

It still took me about 45 mins of playing and staring at it to fork over the cash, but yes it is beautiful. Most of the photos I've seen of this model show a heavy burl, but this one is an unusual tasteful burl with very lovely flame. It's hard to capture, but the flame under the purple on the horns is outstanding.

Congrats on your two new additions - Welcome to the sickness that is Spector G.A.S. - love that flame on the top! I also saw that you're a fellow Canadian, always nice to see more Spectors up here in the Great White North!
