I agree something is wrong , but I've never seen a quilt like that on the early euro stuff . All I have is my iPhone , can't really tell anything about how the bridge sets , but it looks weird , almost like it's warped to curve to the body .... Not routed in . Maybe we have a ns2o that was refinished. But then wouldn't the serial be stamped in the hs ? Also the input jack sticks out and has a gromet on it . Were the kramers that way ? Weren't the earlier basses , ns2a included , input jacks recessed ?

Don't Euros have 5 screws in the control cavity cover, this has 6. (like a NS-2A) And that Double-S really looks like the placement & thickness of a NS-2A.

About the bridge. as JPS mentioned:
"NO SPECTOR has ever been made with that bridge. It's a replacement. And you can see that it DOES NOT fit the body routing. The back edge of the bridge sits outside the route, looks like the inside has been filled in some and it's sitting a little off regarding being level..."

The routing on a NS-2A bridge is just short of the width of the J Pickup. While the routing of a USA bridge is wider then the J Pickup.

It appears that the Schaller bridge is on top of a routed area shorter then the J Pickup.

I have a PDF image collage of a couple "SPECTOR" basses this guy made....

"This is a hand made bass by Long Island luthier Tony Anton. He workmanship is superb.

The bass has original Spector Gold Mini Schaller tuners, original Spector Gold bridge and original Spector Electronics."

If I didn't know better... looking at the pics I would swear it WAS a SPECTOR bass. :eyebrow:

Good catch I think you're right on the screws , not sure about how many the kramers had . But then I would have to say I don't think any of us have ever seen a ns2a with a body anything like that .

I sent the guy a message about under the truss rod cover pic . Let's see what he says tomorrow .

I think that if anything can be said it's that there have been a lot of variations over the years !

very close very close copy .... seems like he routed too deep on the pickup cavity and bridge . they went through to the control cavity . weird route in the p route . headstock overlay and inlay is dead on , at least in the pic . control cavity isnt exact , contours look a little off , not bad , very close , may just be the pic angle . i think this one would piss stuart and pj off ! if it werent for a few small things and if it were all together i would say it was a fretboard repair turned fretless on a ns2a ... but ive never seen those routes like that on any of the ns2a's i use to have ... and i know thats a euro bridge , but its also white metallic so re route and refin ... dang good copy ....

I think the old NS2-JA also had dot inlays.
