There's actually quite a noticeable difference... I had a chance to try out both of them. The brass is noticeable heavier when holding both in your hand... however I wasnt able to really tell a weight difference when playing.
Has anyone run Emg hz's with the hazlab clone? Did a search but didn't find anything. Will that work? I have the circuit comming in and was gonna a/b the tone pump and haz clone before the Emg 35p/j arrive .

Ah fair enough, I was thinking I could try using one to help balance the Rebop but if it's not gonna work I'll save the money and just go with black.

Once I figured out how they bridge worked.. I havent had a problem with intonation... however the new bridges would make things a lot easier.
I think I may pull the trigger and A/B one on my euro.

Actually the black and gold are the same size and fit both the neck-thru and bolt-on Euro models the same. So you can change out to gold from black or black from gold if you want (of course you'd have to change tuners too).
Like Chris said the black bridge is lighter than the gold, but because of the issues I've had rubbing the finish off the gold Euro Bridge I prefer the matte black hardware on a Euro.
I've had my NS-4 a year now... well next month... and that brass USA bridge shows no fading or wearing. So that's the difference between premium solid brass and brass-zinc alloy.

A wider strap does wonders, but I think unless you want a cosmetic change... The bridge is not THAT much heavier where it will help in that situation.
Speaking of straps, do you have any experience with the DiMarzio clip-lock straps?
Just a few questions
1. Do I need a set of strap locks?
2. Is the 2" comfortable with a Spector?
I would think so too, but I haven't had any experience with the clone. Trying to find sound clips of it is next to impossible although a lot of people have them.
The dimarzio system is good but the strap itself is too thin IMO. The locks on them are built into the strap, safety clip style ( if were talking about the same one) I had them on my first spector and was MUCH happier with the way it sat with a thicker strap. I would recomend the schaller locks and studs ( installed with the U facing up!! lol ) and a thicker leather or padded strap of your choice (3-4")
DiMarzio ClipLock series. They sell a 3" one in black and everything else in 2"
So if I install schaller locks for the purpose of having locks on my other straps, I'll still be able to use my DiMarzio locks on the strap and not have to change screws every time?

No the two are totally different animals. The normal strap buttons are removed and replaced by the clip section in the dimarzio system, so there are no more strap buttons just the ends with the clips. The schaller system replaces the strap buttons with different ones and uses a clip / lock that is attached and stays on the strap. You could use multiple straps with the schaller locks on them for any bass with the system if you want.
In theory I guess you could try and put a strap button on the end of the dimarzio system , you would need some longer screws than what they come with and might have to drill out the locking end for a thicker screw also.

I think that's the only thing lacking on spectors, and think all basses should have them. Adjustable style nuts. It makes getting that perfect set up so much easier , and you dont have to recut the nut when you change gauges or tunings. The warwick just a nut 1 (abm) is my fav. I believe their the same, $100 at warwick or $20 through abm. I dont think i will own another bass without one. already ordered one for my new Rebop. It's my first mod on any bass.
Set my bass up for dropped D tuning, changed the setup in about 5 min for perfect non buzz in dropped B . You cant beat em.
