Spector Club - Part 12

I've met him a handful of times and he is a great guy. Most of his bands shows are 21+, so I haven't been able to catch em, but they have a HUGE following, and they seem to be playing twice a week around here.

I sold my ReBop today and
speaking of 5 string basses, I will soon be joining Mr. iceboxbass as a NS-95 owner.
I just purchased a Trans Blue NS-95 from a Mom & Pop shop in Portsmouth, NH for a great price.

It was weird how I found this place, I did a search for Spector NS-95 in google images and the photo of the bass showed up. I would have never found it in the regular google search.

Looking forward to some 5 thunder :bassist: some change in body design and SSD logo. ;)

Awesome basses!! I have a SSD NS-94 with a upgraded EMG BTS-HZ system that sounds killer. Congrats!

In my experience so far, the EMG BTC is more cut/clear and the TonePump is more studio-tone.


I'm gonna replace all the parts that got radio interference in this Dream Theater cover right now and then upload the audio clip. Compare with these clips.

1. This was recorded with my NS5CRFM. Don't let the video fool you.

2. On the darker side of the EMG BTC. Was going for the "wet grind." and not the "bite."

3. This was recorded crappily with my computer input so it has hiss and the like. The original is way more pristine but it was taken down off the internet. It's the studio track for "Prequel to the Sequel" by Dan Briggs. It's an EMG BTC inside an NS2000/5 model.

Wow. That is just gorgeous. My Euro 4 was originally going to be just like that, but that finish was backordered six months. I'm happy with what I did get, but wow!

That is going to be an amazing bass. You will be very happy with the tone. My Euro 4 is an early model which was made within a few years of the CRFM series. The tone is not "sterile" at all. It is punchy, clear and deep. And I am 99% sure it will cut through the mix. P.S. I love EMG pickups.

I think what they confuse with sterile is ultra clean. I love emg's. Clean , punchy, deep and clear. They are all I play ( accept in my TUNE which has custom wounds) . That's a Great bass, it dosen't have the tone pump, which some like and others don't like everything else in this world. It will cut through the mix like a Ginsu. I got compliments on my tone every time I played with mine. You should be very happy with it.

These are Korean, made between 1995-1998
Orignally listed for $1,095, I assume they sold for about $700-800ish when new. It is a 34" scale.
Similar quality to the Korean NS-2A's from the mid-late 80s.

I am very happy with my NS-2A's playability and tone so I figured it was worth a shot on this since I am kinda testing the water in 5 string land

Dang! Is that Jesse? Looks way different from when i remember him. What is the bands name? Do you know if he uses USA basses or Euro ones? His tone killed on Tantric's first album!!!

The new band is the Louisville Crashers. They ate a straight up party/ cover band, but they are playing nonstop. Jesse is giving lessons too, so I may have to call him up.

Not sure if it a Euro or USA. He has a soild red bass as well I think it is a US model.

Very cool man! I'm new to the Spector scene so I'm learning what all these numbers mean! :)
