I turned myself around lol....what I meant was most of the bridge sits on the neck blank, not the body wings...
the neck sections look fairly flat on Patrick's US Specs too...to me it looks like the body arch really starts at the joint of the wings and the neck. Good luck....get those screamin' bass pinch harmonics wailing with the tremolo dive bombs, lol!
Ahhhh... Then it CAN be done. A routing job for a seriously good repairman, for sure... But it CAN be done... Oh, daddy wants.
Glad I could help! I have a friend that always wanted a Floyd Rose on an SG but they said it couldn't be done. They were wrong...
That Dave LaRue video is definitely one of the better ones out there. I still use the "spider" technique he teaches to warm up my fingers when getting ready to play.
0 - for - 2 so far. Talked to the two biggest guitar retailers/repair shops in town, and they both said it's beyond them. One guy suggested that Larue's Kahlers were installed before the wings were glued on, but I don't think so: The Kahler is wider than the neck... Not givin' up!
Does it have to be a Kahler? I believe Hipshot makes one so you might have better luck with them.
Well, ya learn sumpin' every day. Had no idea about the Hipshot bar. A short Google blast shows that they're out there, but they're considerably more expensive than the Kahler. None on the 'bay, either.
I'm on a mission from God...
oh and by the way, you asked earlier about comfortable straps....this is what I use, and I've never had any shoulder discomfort with any bass....

This is the one I have. It's so comfortable that even gigging with a 10 pound bass and a separated shoulder a few weeks after my second motorcycle wreck was no problem.
