That's why they make inexpensive basses. Pick up a flat body SX (they have a few jazz styles that look nice) and mod the hell out of it. I bet it would look and sound pretty good and be fun!

well, it was amazing! i'll have to check to see if we got any videos.
So my band went on fourth and got people dancing (which is always fun) and then we got an uproarious applause after we finished. Then, i went up and jammed on some funk with a drummer friend of mine and one of our guitarists, and that somehow turned into an extended bass solo (hey, I'm, not complaining :D).
after all that was done, the best guitarist in our school went up to jam with a drummer and a percussionist, and they called me up on stage over the other 2 bassists there! we did a few different funk jams, then a blues, and finally we played La Bamba to close the show.
I had a lot of fun, and I really got to show off my Spector! She sounded amazing through my Rig (until now i've only played her through my practice amp). I also loaned the spector to another bassist who didn't bring anything (he wasn't expecting to be playing) and he was really impressed by it. i may have hooked the Spector tribe another member!
I'm soo pumped! I haven't played a show that good in forever! :bassist:

Why not get an inexpensive Spector? Not all of them have the curved bodies right?

They last a pretty good amount of time. The set on my NS-4 is the original set. I've reconditioned them once in the past year and just recently they're getting to the place where they're starting to loose their punch and sound a little dead.

I soaked them in denatured alcohol for 24 hours about 6 months ago, then strung them back up. So with light/moderate use they've lasted a year.

They come in two lengths. Were the longs not long enough (that is what I order).

The tremolo has to have a flat spot to sit on and enough room underneath to rout out for the springs.

I had a Kahler trem put on an Ibanez SR and I had to have a luthier cut the top to make a spot for it. Came out real nice, but there is no way I would do that to a Spector.

I understand they can either take wood off the top to create a flat spot, or add a block. The important thing is to make sure they pay attention to the height of the saddles in relation to the fretboard. Sure they're adjustable but the woodwork has to get them in the right ballpark.

Again, no way I would cut a Spector like that. Ibanez, well, they're more "expendable" in my view.

I tried one of those Comfort Strapps. Ordered it thru MF. Very uncomfortable, the pad wasn't wide enough and was putting pressure into my shoulder. I called MF to send it back to them. So I went with a 4" soft leather strap instead, that I bought from one of our local music stores for $11.00. Very comfortable!

There are NO flat surfaces anywhere on the NS-Body save the flat parts of the headstock.

Attached are three photos I took, first of my first-gen Euro4... the second is PJ Rubal's NS-230 (30th Anniversary Bass), and the bottom is the first NS-2 BEM. Shot for BPL last year (it was upside down I simply flipped the image).

The curves are there... the same on all of them. Even the 5 and 6 string models have a slight curve where the bridge sits recessed.

How are you loving the sonic and playability of the NS-95 Sam? The more that I play mine, the more I don't want to play anything else. There's just something about the sonicness that comes out of That bass...and the ease of playing too.

Oh man, sorry to hear...mine was a lifesaver. About the only time my shoulder starts hurting is close to the end of a 3 hr set or practice. Glad you found something though.

I guess you can say i'm addicted now. lol

Call me weird, but I like to have a backup bass that is similar in look, feel, and sound of my main bass. I started looking for a Spector Legend to use as a backup or where I may not wanna use my Euro and I ended up finding a Spector Rebop for not much more than a Legend goes for:

OH NOOO! he is adicted.
I know the signs of it. :eyebrow::D
(Buying a Spector and have GAS for another within 48 hours is usually the first sign.)

I went from 0 to 6 Spectors in 3 months.....:bassist:
