I guess you can say i'm addicted now. lol

Call me weird, but I like to have a backup bass that is similar in look, feel, and sound of my main bass. I started looking for a Spector Legend to use as a backup or where I may not wanna use my Euro and I ended up finding a Spector Rebop for not much more than a Legend goes for:

You're in trouble now, mad. It's all downhill from here.

Haha no, but congrats on the 2 new Spectors! May they fill all your tonal needs and desires, as well as your aesthetic ones.

OH NOOO! he is adicted.
I know the signs of it. :eyebrow::D
(Buying a Spector and have GAS for another within 48 hours is usually the first sign.)

I went from 0 to 6 Spectors in 3 months.....:bassist:

P.S. I am sending you a PM with some advice on the ReBop.

Hey man, sent you a pm back. I just really dig this bass. The body shape and neck are great. Just love the feel of these basses!

Thanks man. :D

Haha! Thanks man.

I still really want a 4 string P/J in white (I rarely even play 4 strings anymore)! Also, does Spector make a 5 string with a J/J set up?

You might be able to special order a 5 string with J/J pickups or you can just get a Euro 5LX like mine that has the EMG TW pickups or even swap them with the ones you currently have. They are humbuckers but when you pull the volume knob out, it switches them to single coil mode. Just another little option that is nice to have.

I want the look of the J pickup as well though.

Mad, dang dude, you've got it bad! I'd like to check out a reboot myself...Congrats!

Haha! I just want a similar feeling bass as a backup man. You can for sure check it out!

Looking for a couple of things for the Spector:

1. A comfortable strap.
-needs to be at least 60 inches

2. A gigbag/softshell case
-I'm looking at going with a MONO bag maybe? Are there any hybrid cases that fit the Spector body shape?

Looks like my former ReBop 5 DLX! FYI...that ReBop won't sound anything like your Euro. For less $$$ a better selection would be a NS-2A, $350-$500.00. And tune it to BEAD. That'd be closer to your Euro-5.

I have plans for a pickup swap. It doesn't have to sound identical but in the same ball park. I'm mostly concerned about feeling. This will be closer than my Euro and a Fender Precision bass. :p

Also, I'm not a big fan of tuning a 4 string BEAD. I like the neck width of a 5er.

Ah! There you go...good plan! For sure on the later! Welcome to the Spector addiction! :bassist: My NS-2A weighed less than my ReBop 5 DLX and balanced perfectly. But that ReBop has a rawness sonically all it's own! It's a loud one for sure! Can't wait to see your pup switch out! Which pups are you thinking of? EMG DC 35's or 40's? Or TW's?

Fellow Spector Club Members.
I just put some DR strings up for sale if anyone interested PM me.

Some good deals there. What are you gonna be using Lima?

So is the Rebop I bought a Deluxe? I didn't think it was because it didn't have any inlays.

I'm still researching the pickups. I'm fairly new to EMG as well. Any suggestions and info would be welcome!

I tried Blue Steels again and I seem to be liking them more.
I am insane when it comes to strings I could have owned at least 2 NS-2s over the years on the money I waste trying different strings.

The ReBop you are getting would be a ReBop 5.

sorry my bad...yours is not a DLX, no crown inlays...mine was. I meant your natural wood finish was like mine. Mine was a DLX with EMG HZ pups, active Tonepump pre. I believe LimaGuy was thinking of putting TW-35s on his former ReBop. Is that correct Sam? I have the EMG HZ pups on my NS-95 SSD W/BTS active pre...but sounds a whole lot different than the ReBop's HZ setup. Could be the solid maple vs. alder body.
FYI, replace nut with a brass nut ASAP! it'll tone sustain remarkably longer...almost like a neck-thru. It'll only cost $25.00.

EMG 35's are for a 4 string bass and EMG 40's are for a 5 string bass. I think you mentioned your Rebop was a 5 string so you would use the 40's and the DC is the Dual Coil model. The TW is the one I mentioned earlier that is a Dual Coil pickup but when you pull the volume knob, it goes into Single Coil mode. CS models are Dual Coil like the DC's but are ceramic loaded with steel.
