I hear you man. I was using Dunlop for a while but they started dying really fast on me! I think I'm going to try some SIT's on the Spector.

I actually ordered one thru Spector online store. The Euros work on the ReBops. Cost was $28.50. Or...you can order one from AJ, Dickhead Designs for $25.00 and all profits go to a great charity for children that want to learn playing guitar but can't afford it. I've ordered several from AJ and others here on Spector TB and he has a very fast turn around. Invalid Link Removed

That's one thing I was impressed about with my Euro 5. I have never owned a bass that had a brass nut...that just seems VERY high quality to me. :)

I have a question about the Spector TonePumps from different years. I have a 2003 ReBop4 with the TonePump. I took the TonePump out of my 2006 Euro5LX and it's just sitting in a cabinet. I'm going to be replacing the ReBop's EMG HZ pups, but want to keep a TP in it. I'm wondering if there is any reason to use the TP from the later model Euro bass. Where there any changes between 2003 and 2006?

I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but, I haven't played my Spector through any type of decent rig yet.

This is what the guy had to say about the bass through email:

Glad that it got there safely! I think you will be pleased with it. It does have awesome tone. I am a tone freak and I always thought the Spector was killer and I think it is an awesome specimen. I think D'addarios same as I sent you are on it. I have also used DR strings on it and they sounded killer too.

I bragged for years on my Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout tone...but after I started playing the Nathan East model instead of the Spector, lost a lot of the shine for me. Because the killer tone was the Spector paired with the Mesa. The Spector unlike any other bass I have ever owned sounded awesome regardless of the amp and cabs. I have had Ampeg, SWR, Hartke, Mesa, Aguilar, Orange and the Spector sounded monster through every single one.

I just got through playing the bass through my 35 watt practice amp and this bass is LOUD. The tone is more aggressive than I am used to, but I think I can deal with that. The harmonics seem to jump off of the neck. I've never had a bass that I could hit harmonics so easily off of the E string. lol

I'm really wanting a blue/black NS4 or 5 CRFM a black cherry would be cool too maybe. After all the hoopla on the road worn thread I may throw a feeler out for a trade before I go through the trouble of refinishing mine. Maybe someone has a pretty one the don't like to take out lol . Still on the fence though as mine has some mojo that I like. Decisions decisions ....

Seems all the new Wimbish models appear to have a BQC system in them? The Green, the Peacock blue and the Black Matte posted on The Basscentral site seem to have that knob configuration, as well as the one that chrisloe posted of his friends last week. The specs still say Tonepump? JPS any info on this?

This is the strap that I'm gonna get for my Spector:

It's a 2 1/2 inch strap but it's padded, so I think that will help a lot. Levy's had a 4 1/2 inch strap but I was scared it would be too wide.

That's a bit thin, IMO. I have a 3 1/4" Onori that looks simular to the one you show. My Euro is 10 1/2 lbs and that strap works really well with it; no shoulder or back problems.
