Bridge consistent with the US and czech models of the era, aftermarket knobs, and dot inlays that could come on either. US style HAZ preamp (most or all of the euros came with EMG preamps at the time). No czech markings anywhere. Is there a serial number in the cavity?

Early Czech NS-4CR NOT a NS-4CR-FM.
The wings look to be Alder. Which would make it a NON-FM (for Figured Maple) model.

The circuit appears to be a Japanese version of the Korean-USA/Haz copy. A handful of these were made and hit the market around that time and before during the Kramer days. Basically it's very similar to the Mighty Mite circuit : Link Removed

Those look like NS-2A knobs... with a slightly larger white dot on them.

These photos are nicer than the ones on Ebay. If the neck is in good condition it should be a solid bass. Definitely a player's bass. Not necessarily anything collectable. It's a little too beat up for that.

It would seem that Saugerties and Woodstock took some serious flooding and wind damage.

Trees have knocked out power to the SPECTOR Shop. The shop is OK. But the roads are flooded and there are some washed out bridges.

So at least until next week the shop is closed.

Just FYI in case any of you have ordered parts, etc... They won't get shipped this week. So just please be patient... a request from PJ.

He said that Mike Tobias is stranded at his house, that his house is OK, but the creek next to his place flooded and the only way to get to his house is by boat currently.

Let's hope everyone can get back to work safely and without too much of a setback very soon!

Bummer. Hopefully it gets back to normal soon for them.

Once I got home, unpackaged new for me SPECTOR Performer, a lot of playing, a little cleaning and she looks almost new! The fretboard soaked up the lemon oil like a sponge...put two thin coats on. These basses never cease to amaze me! I cannot believe the low action on this Performer! It sounds terrific like a SPECTOR should! My first time playing a passive/passive SPECTOR. I'm really impressed! The E string hits low and booms, mids and highs are solid! I'll take better pictures tomorrow. It's not a fancy exotic hardwoods but you can actually see flaming on the top and I'll try to capture that tomorrow. This bass has very very little play time on it. Bedtime! GOOD NIGHT ALL!!!

Thank God, the shop or any of the "masterpeices in the making" inside didnt get damaged.
Send my well wishes to Stuart.

Maybe it will make Stuart feel better to tell him that I played my NS-2A through my headphones from 1AM to 5AM the night of the hurricane to keep myself "sane and calm" and to make sure I stayed up just in case of an emergency.
