Congrats! The top on that Ian rivals US NS2s. I drooled over this last week in fact, if i had not found my Kramer era NS2 at Gc, I would have bid on this.Red/ black stained Ian Hill 23 minutes to go ... currently 1000.00 !!!!!

Hey guys, just wondering, if a guy had a beautiful, just about like new Euro Doug Wimbish signature with the American Hazlab 9 volt preamp in a almost like new case and needed to sell it to finance another purchase, would anyone be interested? I'm thinking around 1500 shipped. It's the amber one in the pictures. Shoot me a pm if you are interested, just wondering, might come to my sences and keep it.

Spector NS 2 white Kramer japanese protoype bass 4 string. 25 years old. The bass is in good condition & plays wonderfully comparable to US models. Only a several hundred of these Japanese models were made before the Kramer plant opened in Korea (Spector Guitars by Kramer) had no serial #'s and no notch behind the head stock. (originalspector / kramer case included) A very nice bass!

I just have to ask... did getting that USA NS-4 give you the USA SPECTOR fever?
Because if it did... I know what's next. LOL. I have one Euro left... and I've got two USA models... I get my next USA this month (Sept) and I've got two more ordered (for NAMM delivery).
It's a sickness that knows no compromise. I figure I'll be perfectly happy living in my car... or in a cardboard box under a bridge... so long as there's room for all of my SPECTORs.

I want to feel it!!! I'd like to own a USA SPECTOR so bad...hearing all the talk about them, plus seeing the ones that do own one or more, how excited they get about them! I can see the quality difference in the pictures between the USA & Euros. I cant imagine how well they play. Must win the lottery! :bawling:
So I've been thinking this morning, my Spector is combination of features that I have never had nor wanted in a bass, yet, somehow it works pretty well for me.
-Neck thru construction
-Gold hardware
-Non Fender body shape
-Solid Maple body/wings (No alder/ash)
-EMG Pickups
I haven't really been able to use the Spector much with my band (two practices under my belt) so I'm not completely sold on the EMG's in it. Bassist and guitarist I know usually bash EMG to no end. I'm curious as to why EMG has always been the go to pickup for Spector?

I love that the Black Pearl is on the front, that is by far one of my favorite Spectors, so awesome looking! Is that your NS-4 on the bottom of the first page also? Beautiful.

Actually, I do have a bit of the USA Spector fever, but that will be in the future...I could live about anywhere also for basses I want, I just couldn't do it without my wife and kids LOL.
There are three builders I hold in the highest respect because of their instruments they build, and from what I can tell they are just great people. Stuart Spector is right at the top of the list, (I have owned 6 Spectors), Micheal Tobias is up there (I have had 2 6 string Tobias', one fretless, one fretted pre-Gibson, I would like to own another of Mike's basses one day) and the other one is George Furlanet, who makes Fbass (I have owned 2 Fbasses, both 6 strings). The basses I have owned by these 3 men are the only basses in my life that I regret selling, the basses and wish I still had to this day. When I got sick last Thanksgiving, I had a 6 string Fbass I had ordered the spring before.

I custom ordered it with everything I wanted. Love love love that bass, probably the second best bass I have ever owned, my new NS-4 would be the first. When I got sick, I sold it because I knew my family would need the money for medical bills. A friend of mine bought it and held it for me. I wanted to get it back, but even though my friend would take payments over the next couple of years, I just didn't want to do that to him. A guy bought it, which worked out, because he bought it and the next weekend was when my wife surprised me with money she had saved up for my 40th birthday and bought me my NS-4.
Well, a couple of days after the buyer got the bass, he put it up for sale again:

I am thinking if I sell Dougie I can maybe work it out to get it back. I am missing having a 6 string, but don't get me wrong, LOVE my NS-4, just maybe have a chance to get back a bass I really regret selling, even though it is not a Spector
.Still thinking about it, running some budget numbers to see if I sold Dougie if we could afford the rest. If he sells the bass or I figure out we can't afford it right now, I will not be selling Dougie because I know if I sell Dougie I will regret that also, so yeah, I am mental.
