The only time I feel they are useful are in cases like my unlined fretless. Mine has the dots on the side of the neck and there is one at the first fret which is very helpful when fretting in the first position.

They take some getting used to for sure. I've tried to go more by feel than by sight. Between singing backup vocals and dark rooms, I don't get many glances at my neck.

Awesome. I love the Goldwings. Actually I love all the bikes that can put on serious miles. I'm a big fan of the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] so I love the GS, RT, LT, and the Goldwings

I think you're on to something there. Most riders like nice weather. I found myself absolutely loving foul weather. The worse the better. I rode through hurricane Isabelle. Flooded streets and rivers of water about a foot and a half deep. I made it through and the big giant pickups had to turn around. Coldest I commuted through was 6 degrees below zero. IT WAS AWESOME.
Now back to your regularly scheduled SPECTOR obsession
