Nothing wrong with 2 810 cabs for a bar, I ran them for years...It was kind of nice, if the sound man was a dick, i just simply didn't use him....LOL

Lol.. -slow clap-

Ive thrown the idea of a second GS412... but thats mainly to save my speakers and not have to run one cab so hot with such low tunings

Since getting my gs412 over 2 years ago I haven't even thought about any other cabinet ! Spectors and Aguilar just work well together .

I am wanting to trade my lm3 towards a th500 ...

they do VERY well together. i just got my TH500 in.. however had not gotten a chance to grab my gs412 to try to two together... so stoked :bassist:

Not related to the current conversation, but does Anyone have any sound clips of a fretless Spector? Any big users I could look up? I dont think I've ever heard one, and given the great growl the fretted ones get, just thinking about a fretless gives me GAS pains.

BC has a used black gloss NS-2 Kramer era for sale - owned by the bassist from Twisted Sister, lol.

Awww F&^%*& Aye.... !!!!

Thanks!....
Thanks for sending me into the "What can I sell quickly? mode....

Mark has always been one of my Favorite Bassists! I've seen him play and he seems to ALWAYS put everything he has into his playing... I've seen his fingers bleeding while playing... and he keeps on going!

To own one of his basses would be absolutely freaking KILLER!!!!!

Here's another question for you guys: What amplifier/cabinet combination or amplifier alone sounds the best with your Spector? I'm curious to hear you guys' opinions cuz these basses are growly as is, so I can't picture em going too well with Tube amps. I could be mistaken, though!

And Trace, in your case, how does the sound of a Spector coming out of a Trace Elliot compare to that of a Spector coming out of an Ampeg?

For me.. So far it's been an Aguilar DB751 w/GS412 or DB810/410 However I just got my tone hammer 500 so that's up in the air

I've had...
Gk 700/1001/800/mb2500
Ampeg svt2/svt3/svt4/v4/svt
kustom groove bass 1200
Markbass LM2
Hartke LH1000
Aguilar ag500

Cabs
Schroeder 210212
Ampeg 810e/410
WW 115
GK goldline 810
Hartke hydrive 410

ADDED: BTW.... Spector "Growl" and tube amps go very nicely... here's rex with his wall of ampeg.. IMO if you want growl... spector bass and that rig...

since it was asked, here are my 'before' pictures of the ns2000/4 as I received it from ebay. It's got lots of sticker gunk on the finish, no strap buttons, no pickup mounting screws, no electronics, an extra hole for a random switch, no cavity cover screws, and a wrecked G-string tuner.

I'm gonna have to take the Haz copy out of my main gigging bass and put it in this thing, it is begging for it. By far the most comfortable bass I have ever played. Waiting on knobs still, everything else I have already.

Anyone know where to get screws to fit the control cavity cover? It is nicely counter-sunk and has metal inserts for machine screws, which is great, but unfortunately all I have are wood screws so I have nothing that fits! :hmm:

edit: almost forgot, can I get a number? Or perhaps I need to wait til I post hi-res pics of the finished bass this weekend!

Wow, I completely forgot about this video. Rex's tone here is ridiculous, and this isn't the only instance.
Do you think that's from the tubes, though?
As in, have you gotten anything similar to that through your DB751? And on that note, do you think you could've reproduced his tone through your various Ampeg heads?
Just curious.

And Trace, in your case, how does the sound of a Spector coming out of a Trace Elliot compare to that of a Spector coming out of an Ampeg?

Well my rig usually consists of the following Trace Elliot gear..
AH1200SM -1200 watt RMS 2400 pep @ 2ohms, 2 preset EQs & a 7 band blendable EQ.
2 ea. 1048H (10x4 w/horn)
2 ea 1518T (15x1)
or
2 1528 (15x2) cabs.

I have played via other amps over the years but - and this is MY opinion - because I can't get the sound I like via anything else - I wouldn't buy anything but Trace Elliot gear.
That said, I don't think you can go wrong with the Ampeg, either. It's all personal preference and it goes to the comparison between - what it is that you hear in your head vs. what you hear from your amp. If it's a match then you're miles ahead of the crowd and the game
I have said this before - You can make a SPECTOR bass sound like almost any other bass out there but, you can't make any other bass sound like a SPECTOR.

Right now, at home, I'm using the AH1200SM, one 1518T, and an SWR Goliath SR. (10x6 w/horn) and I still prefer the 1048H over the Goliath SR.
I can get everything from nice and clean to growl like KUJO to phat heavy from my Ian HIll, and almost those to clean like a crystal piano via my NS-2J... both have the EMG Preamps a BQC and a BTS respectively. the BQC is at 18vdc the BTS @ 9vdc.

on a side note...
I kick myself in the azz every time I think about when I sold my 1088 cabs :bawl:, too! But, divorce makes one do the unthinkable sometimes, no?
