But I do agree offering the others for those "emotional" J bass guys is a great and simple to implement common sense idea.

I'm new to Spector-world but I'll give it a whirl.

Mine would be an NS-2. Neck through. Transparent matt black, swamp ash body with flamed maple top. Maple (not birdseye) fretboard. Passive split coil P pickup. 1 tone 1 volume. Black hardware.

Edit, I forgot to mention, side dots only, no inlays.

NS2 Spalted maple top (a specific kind with more "burl" to it), Walnut back, black hardware. Should be ready for me early next year!:D

I can recommend upgrading to the EMG HZs they are passive and sound better that the emg/ssd thats are in there now IMHO of course. I also would like to upgrade the bridge of my performer. The tuners on mine are fine.. but I thin I am going to get a brass nut. I have one on my NS-2A and I really like it.

I have an older performer model. I'm not sure if it is different at all..

Wow I can't believe I missed this.... I installed a BADASS2 once.... And I found no difference other then being a hassle to install(filing) and it sorta looked "cool" over my gotoh that it replaced.. I eventually went back and ditched the badass bridge on a cheap sx bass I had.

Bridges has come a long way.... Nostalgia doesnt doesn't always hold up

how do the HZ's sound compared to the SSD pups?

The Codas are cool for the Fenfer guys. It's a big market and after all these years I guess they deserve to see what a top quality bass made by the master is.

Having said that, Now if there are some delusions up there in NY that my beloved NS /NT basses are going anywhere , I will personally drive up there and lay the smack down on everyone to bring them back to their senses.

Other than that its all good ......lol

The offering of a BadAss bridge is a bit surprising I have to say. Personally, I thought they stopped making them altogether but I guess there have been a few times when they were back-ordered for several months. It just sounds like it could be a hassle getting them if they were going to offer them in the Coda's but I know some people love them.

My Clement bass had a Hipshot A bridge in it and I really loved that bridge. Maybe it doesn't look like the old time Fender bridge but that doesn't bother me as I would prefer a better quality one over looks any day. But hey, that is why Spector is great and offers different options. Everyone can be happy and get what they want.

It looks like they split out the stacked pot for treble and bass and made them separate knobs now.

I don't really mind the headstock and logo. To me, it looks like they are going for a more traditional look since it is modeled after the Jazz bass. I actually like the look of the Pau Ferro neck on the previous Coda's but all this stuff is personal preference so everyone is going to be different.
