I don't know why you feel the need to cop an attitude. It doesn't help your argument.

Sorry. I get a bit over zealous sometimes.

These features can be annoying to some players, as the string spacing can move unexpectedly while changing springs, and the top load make it difficult to keep the ball end in the slot until the string is under tension.

Most bridges with side to side adjustment have some way to keep it locked in position. I find the ball/slot argument not true at all in real world application.

In the end, I'm guessing Stuart and PJ will install whatever bridge they feel will be most acceptable in the market, regardless of what we may think.

Ya know, call me crazy, but I'd actually like to see a modern Spector bridge on there. I don't think it would appeal to the typical Jazz bass fan, but it would be a neat mix.

Ns4 (body/ pickup configuration) , quilt or flame green fade to black, NT, gold hardware, haz pre, no fret inlays except mop Spector logo on 12th fret (side markers though). A legend custom model with Hz 's and tone pump would work fine as well. NT is a must though. Some day......a Rex body style with the same extras would work as well.

Yeh I just got home from a 7 hour round trip road trip and it was the first post that I opened. I still need to hear a Coda 5 before I'd buy...and I'm with some others on here about liking how the NS body is so comfortable. But that new Coda body is gorgeous!

NS body with P/J and tone pump. It would say "FORGIVEN" from 12th fret to 7th fret in MOP. (like my custom made acoustic)

The side markers would be dull lit LEDs. So you could check reference in the dark with out it being wicked bright.

there would be two versions....

1. Satin Black with Ebony fretboard
2. Satin Black Cherry with Birdseyes Maple fretboard and black MOP inlay

This bass is perfect to me. I don't remember who it belongs to but I liked it so much I saved the picture. I hope he doesn't mind.

I would want to have the usa 9 volt preamp.

My NS2a had a minor procedure a few days ago. I replaced the nut with a brass one. It went well. The open strings seem to match the sound of the fretted strings better. Plus it looks cool.

I got the nut from the guy at dickhead designs.. he does good work.

Swamp ash body finished in a vintage blonde. Lower horn cut to access all frets.
Neck thru maple with a flame/curly maple fingerboard with blue LED MOP inlays and side dots.
Matching swamp ash headstock cap.
Hipshot A bridge and Hipshot ultra light tuners (chrome).
Schaller strap locks (chrome).
Hazlab 9v preamp.
Nordstand pickups (PJ configuration).
DR Fatbeams Lite 40-120

I'm considering some mods to my Performer bass. She's gonna stay passive but what type of bridge would you recommend? Should I change out the tuners as well when I do the bridge?

I'm not having issues staying in tune but I'd like a tad bit more sustain

I agree with you guys about the Coda bass.

PJ doesn't want to call these "new versions" but instead say they're new options. So in other words a Coda is a Coda and you will be able to order one with a quilt top, with birdseye maple board and crown inlays or not.

Or mix and match. Quilt top, traditional Pau Ferro dot neck fingerboard...etc...

And the Hipshot Type A isn't going anywhere. We (meaning Darryl Anders of The Tower of Power... who loves this new Coda with options and myself) talked PJ out of the switch. The Hipshot is a great bridge and it is a better bridge than the BadAss. So he's content to not change that... or actually offer all three (traditional J-style, Badass and Hipshot) as options. You pick which one you like better.

For me, the bottom line is that it's the SPECTOR NS-Bass that gets my heart racing... it's that bass I want to own... no other is really interesting to me. Although I did make a push for the return of the SSD SD models today. We'll see. I think a few as a special edition would be cool. I like that body style.

PJ gave me a stack of old CD-ROMs full of photos and data information for older SSD and early Woodstock era models from the NS-2000 models and Q series to the NS-CR and NS-CR-FM models. Some of this stuff has never been seen by anyone but Stuart and PJ... so I have around 10 CD-ROMs to go through to pull cool stuff from to share with you all.

I filmed several performances today... Nicki Tedesco wailing and killing it on the NS-2 at the show at the Ampeg Booth on a massive stack of Ampegs. So dominated the main hall of the show for about 20 minutes. And it's killer.

Several talented visitors to the booth playing on the two most popular basses at the show... the NS-2 and the Forte-4... and hands down so many SPECTOR Artists that showed up to the booth LOVE the Forte-4. The one at the show already has an owner... but several people offered to buy it today. It has an amazing flame quilt with a really tight pattern.

Someone is getting a killer Forte. It's got a sweet neck and it's a joy to play.

I filmed two Aguilar/Dunlop artists performances. Both are beyond words for coolness. Nope... neither were playing SPECTORs... well in all fairness one was performing with a Double Bass... and he rocked that bass like nothing I've ever seen. It was amazing.. Ever see a double bass player use a Wah peddle and a bow? It'll blow your mind how talented and cool this performance is.

I ended the night by going out to dinner with PJ and some cool SPECTOR Artists. It was a great day.
