Spector Club - Part 17

I just today took possession of a Spector Legend Classic 4 in the black n' blue color from a fellow TB'er. I love it!
I do have one question, however. The output seems to be low, even compared to my Squier VM Jazz. I checked the battery and it seems fine, so I'm not sure what the issue may be. Any help would be appreciated.

Pics will be forthcoming, but I would like to get a number if I could.

Also, has anyone replaced the knobs on their bass with gold knobs to match gold hardware?

I just voted for number 1. I feel it has a more open aggressive tone.

Because there's no need for it. Many bass manufacturers have proven that they can make a 34" 5 string without flop. Why deal with the extra inch of scale length if it's not needed??

Ok need some feedback..... I'm contemplating the next Spector for the collection... This bass will be used... alot and (hopefully) go on tour, even just around AZ/CA/NM/CO.

I love my NS-2A, its comfy and growls nicely. I'm thinking about picking up a rex-4 or possibly another NS-2A... what are your thoughts?

Who has both? who has a rex and what does it sound play like?

I play in a hard rock band so I really just need balls to the wall... :bassist:

They all sound good, I liked clip 1 the best, but you can hear how hot the signal is on 2&3. Makes me wonder how it would drive my svt.....

Yes and no,
The last two years of the NSCR line (pre "Euro",'99-'00) was when they added the inlays and went to 35" on the 5's. This is also when they went 35" on the US 5's and 6's.

You will find a few Czech transitional 5's (35" with dots) from extremely early '99. Don't know if any inlayed transitional 34" 5's slipped through.

I've seen it said they will still make a 34" 5 or 6 in the US's. Don't know about the Czechs.

Can't go wrong either way. The Rex likes to dive just a little but not past 90 deg. A good strap fixes it easily though. Imo the Rex dosent play as easily as the NS2a in the upper register, If that's a concern. For stage presence, looks and in your face bass, the Rex is hard to beat........maybe I should get one of those too......lol. The NS2a is great all around though.

ya that is what I had gathered... but in your face bass is the name of the game... so the Rex is very appealing and not very expensive... I think you got it figured out tho... just get both or maybe a Rex and a ReBop :)
