Spector Club (Part 2)

When i feel like ive gotten my playing level to a deserving level, im going to award myself with my third spector;
a Euro 5LX Poplar Burl Finish.

It will be my first non Legend Series haha.

Out of all the other Euros or US models, i think that one is the nicest

I'm very happy with my 2006 Euro 5 LX. After 2 years of playing it, I am still amazed at how resposive it is to the player, how articulate it sounds and the superior material/build quality as compared to so many other basses.

I cant post a pic right now but I just picked up a Spector and Im not sure of the model. I know its korean. It is cherry red with a quilt maple top, active 2-band eq and HZ EMG'S. Any ideas? Its a five string, the headstock seems fatter than the ones in alot of the pics I see.

(bad angle i know, but it shows the headstock you mentioned and has a 2 band active EQ. (though with diff pickups, i think i got a special model)

If so, you got yourself a Legend. theyre the asian made models (as far as i know)

I love my legend... But if a supervillain were to drop both it and my NS-5H2 off a skyscraper at the same time- Leaving me time to save only one- I would save the US, no second thoughts.

The electronics and construction are WAY better in the US.

If you can see bolts on the back, it's a Legend Classic. If not, it's a Legend Custom.

It's not that Legends are bad- In fact they are suburb instruments and are high in the running for best bass in their price range- They're just not a good as the more expensive US models.

What they do that's invaluable is give people that first taste of Spector Basses (My time from Legend to US- 3 months). Just watching this club and online retailers, I can tell that they are doing they're job- Making it more affordable to own a Spector.

...And this doesn't mean that everybody needs to drop a couple of grand on a US (there a professionals who only use Legends), it's just that the temptation is justified, should you feel the need to succumb to the exotic nature of a US.
