After 8 years of playing Fenders I made the switch to Spector. About four months ago I got a zebrawood Euro and like it so much I got this amber stain one. DOn't have a digital camera but our drummer took this when we were recording a month ago.

Just refinished this Performer. Scotchbrite pads, steel wool and two coats of testors dullcote. That stuff is the bomb for matte finishes. Also installed an Artec SE2 preamp. I can't keep my hands off of these curves. Oh, and Spector customer service is the best I have ever seen. Doesn't matter what model, from China, Euro or USA, they are on top of it.

Steel wool? I hope you took the pups out and cleaned all the residual out of those cavaties!Nice job!
Here's mine; it's the lowest line I think (no serial number or even a model name). Does anyone know what model this is? I think this was $400 new. Feels like basswood (very light). Passive pups. Rosewood board. Matt

tr00f...I have one Spector and three jazz basses atm, one fretted and two fretless...I have never been happier with my gear!
